[Undertale Remix] SharaX - Yet Darker

Hello again! I didn't mean for this track to be this late but I ended up getting c0v!d again so I was out sick a while, then started having pc issues with parts needing to be replaced just when I was feeling better TwT But I'm going on a holiday cruise tomorrow and wanted to at least upload one more track before the year ended. This track is a bit different than my normal uploads as it was initially started in January 2020 and then I forgot about it, as 2020 was an interesting year. I had written around 1:30 length & didn't want it to collect dust any longer or go to waste, so I opted to work on it again leaving the first 1:30 mostly as is and wrote the rest. This track is basically two different time periods in one song (the start to 1:30 being 2020 and everything after 1:30 being 2023), so it's unique in that aspect as I'd normally just rewrite the whole song as my style tends to evolve over the years and I can get picky with my compositions, especially older ones. Anywho, I won't say this track was smooth sailing as it took 32 hours to complete and I rewrote sections several times, but it's something I'm happy with and one of my favorite releases of the year~ ^w^

I remember hearing the original version when it came out. I was around 12 years old and it was one of my favorite songs. It inspired me to make music just like yours. I only had my phone at the time, so the only music software I was able to use was Garageband. In spite of that, I made dozens of songs in spans of weeks. I was so excited to produce my own music because I never could really express my creativity. But hearing your stuff made me realize that music was my favorite thing to express. I made bossfight themes, techno music, orchestral pieces, and a whole bunch of other genres. Eventually, I decided to release my tracks on my KZbin channel, not expecting to get that much attention. And now I'm 20 years old, making music for an audience of over 45k people. And I'd like to say thank you. You were (and still are) one of my biggest inspirations during my journey to where I am now. And I'm very grateful that I still get to hear your music after over seven years of finding your channel. Have a good day.

As much as the remixes of Gaster's theme usually capture him very well as a mysterious figure, an enigma, even an anecdote that is told with fear in the underground, here we are dealing with something different. I would equate it to communing with an incomprehensible phenomenon, not necessarily a person, because who knows what is left of him after so long? Did he remain a fragment of himself or became a deity beyond all understanding? One thing is certain, with the passing of time, everything becomes.... Yet darker.

I like to think the different remixes and songs bearing the yet darker name all belong to separate gaster shards, and while most are inquisitive, friendly, mere ghosts, or otherwise, this gaster is dark. This gaster is dark, yet darker.

4:19 sounds beautiful, turning into biblical at 4:38! I love how this contrasts with your other Gaster-related remixes, setting a different tone here: it doesn't immediately start blasting, instead, there's a pretty long build-up. And over-all, it's not as rabid, animalistic and punchy as the other songs, but rather more tactical, hands-on. It doesn't sound wacky, as if in a craze, as the 2018 one. In the old ones he's either a madman or just a malicious, dangerous entity. The new one, however, explores just the pragmatic (maybe a bit extreme..) and scientific side of our beloved mystery man. :)
