The recoil increase is specifically to stop rambo'ing, so that supports can support, assaults can assault, recons can recon, and engineers...they can play with bombs and tanks. Engineer doesn't work in that context very well

I used to run-and-gun with the m60 pre-patch on Metro a lot and loved it back then, but even with the added recoil, it is still a good gun. It def was a beast when playing rush on that map when doing the second set of objectives. The middle series of corridors between the two subway tracks was perfect for it.

Bravo is an english-speaking way of clarifying the letter "B" in the military, germans use "Berta", russians use "Boris". The sole purpose of it is that you can be clear even if radio transmission is breaking off. So if you insist on calling it that then you must spell it all "Mike two four zero bravo", because by the technical documents it is still just M240B - second model after M240 (like Mod0, Mod1 etc.). Only E is actually standing for "experimental" and M240B was primarily E4 in testing.

I suggest playing on rush/conquest on maps like metro for lmg's to get used to them, it takes a bit of getting used to. Don't be afraid to hold the trigger down, it only comes in full auto for a reason. Get as many accuracy bonus as possible, flash suppressor or just go with extended mag. When firing if possible stand where you are it gives you that ads accuracy bonus.

In real life LMG's are used to suppress large groups of enemies in close to long ranges, however some countries use it as a weapon today.

Yes, extended mags exist, but they still have to reload and in the middle of a firefight 200 rounds will go downrange quickly if you're using the MG right. That and getting into a chokepoint that's easy to defend with a weapon like an LMG isn't camping, it's using your brain and a real tactic.

M60 with bipod the m145 scope and extended mag or flash supressor. Able to lock down alleys,roads,and a view of seine(window) I have over 67service stars with that wep, used it prepatch was a beast. Now its even more a beast because the m60has the highest supression effect of all lmgs

before the patch my favorite LMG was the M240B, but now it is the M60E, the increased recoil on the M240B made it totaly useless without bipod

The true underused weapon is the SG553...I almost always use it with Kobra sight, foregrip, and supressor. It works amazingly in close quarters, and even medium-long range (on 3-round burst).

Check out the Symthic forums. I just compiled weapon attachment data. The M60 has the best foregrip among LMGs. The M60 seems to be the foregrip platform while the PKP and M240 are trending twoards bipods. Bipod on the M60 is still stellar though.

i personally think nerfing the lmgs was a good idea, now they get used for what they are supposed to be used for: support rather than an uber AR. Point being you shouldn't be able to run-and-gun with an lmg and should be used for holding down areas and suppressing enemies whilst your team moves in.

FS (flash supressor) > S (silencer) on accuracy, there is a bigger gain for using the FS because the silencer gives other additives. IMO deadly combo - VG/FS or FS/BP or FS/HB. CQB, S/VG Then again, I'm not a Bipod person. I'm on-target regardless without it.

Favourite LMG by far. Foregrip and flash suppressor makes this thing amazing. May not be as good at range when the hell is it a good idea to engage at range with an LMG without a bipod. Bipod just doesn't suit my aggressive play style

I really hate all these 'big' LMGs, the 240, M60 and PKP. Pre-patch I always ran with an M249, because it felt most like an assault rifle, and I just couldn't find a use for the 'big' ones. High recoil, slow fire rate, high damage just seems ideal on a bipod, and that's only really useful when you find that perfect bipoding spot.

I liked the m60 before the patch....Now, I love it. It was the first gun i tested when the patch came out, and I just would NOT stop pwning with it. Now, it's a 4 way tie for my favorite LMG: m249, m240b, pkp, and the m60.....

m1014 v.s. USAS (buckshot). I know you did 970 v.s 1014 previous to the patch, but now 1014 seems 2 have the best combination of fire rate and stopping power. I think m1014 own usas now, but im not quite sure. Keep up the good work!

It's te real name of the M240B, it's not the name but the modle/version of the original M240. Plus the M16 series is based off of the AR-15. Even look it up, it was made by Eugene Stoner. If you wana read about it I'll send a link :)

I think I have done just fine not comparing the BC2 weapons to their counterparts in BF3. But I do agree that most guns in BC2 did perform a little better than those in BF3 in some ways. I think the F2000 is a reasonable example.

So the 200 Mag of the RPK is a bug? Hm, it seemed kind of odd to me, but I thought it was intended. I use other LMGs now so it doesn't matter at all. And, well, it is realistic that Rambo playstyle with LMGs is punished and Bipod is the way to go. The weapontype LMG was developed to combine the firepower of HMG with mobility. A weapon that is able to penetrate light armor has high recoil and is heavy and therefore not that easy to aim without a bipod.

Try the 240 from the bipod, it's a completely different beast, I can take out most snipers with it using ext. mags, and acog or holo.

i think Dice want LMG to be realistic, indeed you'll never see in real life soldiers running in close quarter with a LMG, they are used with a bipod and enable you to protect a base or give fire suppression for your teamates. You can easily take down with LMG + bipod ennemies at 150-200 Meters far away

If DICE was only going for realism the m60e4 would kill you in 1-2 shots in Thigh or Fore-arm ,you be supprised how much blood you can loose in a minute,not to mention that U.S. marines would use only M4,M16,M249,etc.Because you are not allowed to use another counrtys weapons.

I tried to use m60 the same way as I did in BC2 but it just can't cut it. It takes longer to get up than a sub / ar so if you and the other guy hit fire at the exact same time, he will kill you every time.

Forgrip is useless for the m60 it only has no horizontal recoil only vertical that's why holographic sight flash suppressor and bipod is beast with this gun

So, you think 200 rounds is an acceptable size for an extended RPK mag? I don't think so. Or I want an MP7 with 80 rounds extended mag, T88 with 400 rounds extended mag and so on. It is first of all not realistic to have a magazine type like the RPK with 200 rounds and secondly it is imbalanced ingame to have one weapon where the ext. mag gives a 4.4 times greater capacity while all the other ext. mags give only 2 times greater capacity.

@Butberp2836y1 Your doing it wrong. Of you want a hip-firable LMG then use the M240. The increased fire rate makes it a much better choice. If you think you saw someones foot as they rounded a corner across the map, hold the trigger and don't aim. I get 100+ kills with it a game on Noshar Canals TDM with 500 tickets... That's more than double what I should have if every person on the team got the same number of kills. And we still lost -_-
