So beautiful & peaceful. I have never taken the occasion to actually be on the river when living in BC but have driven thru the interior numerous times always enjoying the waterways & the mountainous surroundings. Always so busy & on the go I never took the time to investigate the area. Oh to be young & agile again, to be able to experience the wonders that surround us.

As a kayaker, I can recommend a z-drag kit. It will not only allow you to move larger boulders, but also allow those sniping to tie off upstream to stay stationary in the faster flows.

I hada claim on Vancouver island for a few years and got hooked. I've never worked so hard but only found about 2 ounces total. Still loved it. Miss it terribly. When the scenery is that good you could set up a camera up or down stream of where you are working and just get a half hour video of the river. It would be great to put on in the background and chill out with.

Paulie, your wobbleys might be caused by a pressure differential detected in your inner ear. When the current is across your line of sight the pressure in your upstream ear is higher than felt by the downstream ear. Balance involves the inner ear. This happened to a friend over 50 years ago.

@Lilith-Rose3 жыл бұрын
Iirc that's what they call it when the rocks are hand stacked neatly in piles like that because it's something the old Chinese workers tended to do rather than throwing things aside haphazardly

@@billdgen116 Don't know how much gradient there is in the river. I've always wanted a sailboat that I can anchor in a BC fjord. Take some old fire hoses ( the canvas type that roll up in the trucks ) and pull it up a creek and use that as a penstock for a hydro system. About a 1000 or 1500 watt turgo generator and I'm set. Check out the mrhydrohead channel for a full size system

Are you allowed to use the giant syringe under water to get the stuff out of the cracks or any type of powered vacuum suction hose ? One of the old episodes of Gold Fever the host had stated he and his Dad, back in the 80's had pulled a ton of ounces out of a 'honey hole'. I wasn't sure which state/country he was in as he was all over.

Just a theory, but maybe the reason your not finding as much gold in the river is it's been thoroughly metal detected in the river and outside the river. It seems like the high banking your buddies and you were doing maybe that was a little deeper and that's why it was left untouched. Especially when you showed the work from the old timers it seems like they clean that River out pretty good. The gold is crazy on the hillside where you were high banking where the River used to run 👍 Thanks for sharing.

What I would like to see yall do is build a in river slew. Use the rocks against the bedrock in current and leave it. Make it easy to check. What about using pressured water to wash away the overburden when sniping. Heavy equipment is a problem. Looks like the Chinese got most of gold out of there.

Heyy putting something on your pans for showing scale sounds like a good idea as video does poorly showing depth. I can only tell the size of the gold when you either show it on your finger or when Pauly uses his sniffer on the ones he finds underwater. Maybe something attached to the close camera so it doesn't get lost, a 5mm gem attached to a chain? Just to appreciate how small gold can get.
