Bering ships are a steel hull weighing in at 170 tons for a 77. The hull may be steel but it's clad with an outer material about 19 mm thick. The interior is suspended on some type of rubberised substance that keep the entire boat silent. It's no joke either, @ 1200 rpm you can't hear it without looking at the instruments. No sound difference even when starting up. Above all this thoughtful building, they are built to come home from near anything. Look up the Nauti styles two part review, you can't help but be seriously impressed. Oh, and going into reverse to stop, no transmitted cavitation, no vibration and in fact you can't hear it slowing down. They can also cross the Atlantic Ocean and according to Alexei, return without picking up fuel. The hull is so strong, you can jack up the entire boat at balance point on no more than a 100mm jack point, Truly Mind bending stuff.

They said it was so great to come "home" to the boat. What an AMAZING life your family has created aboard Mermaid Monster. Well done!!! The kids are happy and feel your boat is a safe and wonderful place to be. Merry Christmas and best wishes for fair winds and calm seas :) Thanks for sharing your journey.

everyone suddenly is all over bering because nautistyles here on youtube did a big multi part series on on them with shipyard tours. they did an excellent job. if you haven't watched that then its a must see. if you weren't a fan of bering then after the videos you will be. they are steel hulls and they dont currently have anything smaller than a 70 that i am aware of. anything in that range is going to be expensive. i think they are only a little more expensive than a nordhavn of a similar size. with that said i still love nordhavn. i actually got back from dana point a few weeks ago to spec out a 475. i will have hull #5 end of 2023. if your still cruising the east coast maybe ill see you out there somewhere. be safe!

Yes, Bering yachts are tanks, biggest differences are steel hull and aluminum super structure. They are made to take the open sea at it's worst and keep the family safe. And yes they can come very luxurious if that's the way you like it. Alex is a retired Russian fisherman that builds his yachts to handle the Bering Sea. As hence the name of the company....

At the Wal-Mart store here you can buy the big water Jugs that are 5 gallon and take the jug back in for refills. I think the best store I've ever been in was In Idaho Falls. They didn't sell food in packages. All the food was in Barrals, and you had to take Tupper wear containers in to put your food into. We used to take Glass jars to a local Dairy for our Milk too. My favorite boat was a used Sale Boat in eBay I found. It had a Recliner Pegged to the Foor and a wood stove where the Salone had been. (No Table) Then instead of just cushions on a Board it had Springs from a Coach with big Coach cushions instead.

I think Nordhavn has proven to be the best long term purchase and a true ocean crossing vessel. Its reliable, spacious, practical, robust and i get the idea that it will handle even the worst conditions comfortably. Range is important, so even here Nordhavn ticks the box, even with the compact N41, amazing range for such a compact boat. Other brands might have alot of "bling" , but when you are up in heavy seas, do you want bling or do you want capability? I would rather be on the capable boat and leave the bling factor for the cruising magazines and boat shows.

The Bering Yachts are rock solid. I have looked at a used 2013 -65 Ft Bering and it never moved due to the steel hull and heavy center line. I have noticed in the past when I went to recycle my own I have seen alot of water bottles in the regular garbage. Aggravating because if such place sells the bottles or bottle it should be redeemable there! ( competition between water companies, like Wal-Mart. It's seams most big chain stores have there own water to bottle.)

I’ve looked at a Bering 65, it’s an aluminum superstructure, steel hull, and they look nice . But for us it has to be a Nordhavn 64, twin helm chairs, pilot house and fly . I think their fixed wing controls may be more dependable than wireless or a plug in box with long cord . Actual SS wheel between both helm chairs, because when entering a harbor or mooring field I will be standing between both chairs for better vision . Also most cruising is done with auto pilot, so you don’t need the wheel in front of a chair . Love your channel, and vids !

Bering is legit a great company, building amazing vessels. They upgrade their boats from traditional explorer yachts (and coastal cruisers); from the sea keeper for stabilization, and solar upgrades that are (IMO) the best. And the people are top notch. They're built to do ocean crossings and major passages (the B70, which is a coastal cruiser, can cross the Atlantic (along with their B60))

Like every one already said Bering yatchs are built to take on mother nature, and just to keep on going day after day, made of steel and over engineered for that purpose, i think the B77 costs £4 million + but you get a hell of alot for that price, a "Super Yatch" would be double that a least, hope you enjoy your week,
@sittingbull99862 жыл бұрын
What makes a Bering attractive? Initially the steel hull vs. Fibreglass. They are built to European class A standard so marketable as a second hand anywhere in the world. Most of the components are of industrial/commercial grade, quite over engineered , like if it were built in Switzerland. To the engine room maybe an add on for world cruising would be an Alfa Laval centrifuge. Looks are of a trawler and pleasing. The hull design looks interesting but the proof is someone putting out a fuel consumption test. Nice, nice little ship.

Great video guys! As to the question regarding water bottles and not soda, I believe it is because water is readily available, open the tap and you have it unlike say coke or Pepsi. I cringe every time I see a video and they are loading cases of bottled water on board. I hate it. It doesn’t make sense when your boat has a water maker. As far as the Bering is concerned, if given an unlimited budget, I would go with a CDM Flexplorer model, as I prefer the steel hulls. I just don’t see making a boat out of GRP and then having to add a ton of ballast to it. I also like the styling of it. Replacing and changing out panels is fairly easy as all prices are numbered. I also like the fact that it has twin engines, and that they are both sized the same, so if something happened to one, you can still travel at same speed, since only one engine is running while underway. Just my opinion.

Well apparently this video was from a few months ago. So in reference to Bering Yatches for Brooke. See you tube NautiStyles videos on the 77 and the 143 which is under construction so you can appreciate the quality and design behind the yachts. Steel super structure and aluminum above. Remember you said what kind of yacht you would by if money wasn't an object. Plus you said you really don't see videos on these boats. If it was mine there would be plenty. On the other hand their clientele most likely enjoys flying under the radar. Which is understandable. The explore yachts they make are 30 to 40 percent over built for durability. The design is pretty amazing plus the range they get. You have to really watch both parts of the 77 videos. Otherwise coming into a more realistic dream we all love the Nordhavns. Weekly watcher and subscriber. Safe travels.

Bearing I think don't have a garage and similar to Nordharden. I think speed is the same not sure about distance because of weight as both look good and have full electronics and safety except the doors getting on and off are the wrong way yours close from out side theirs close from inside which means if the sea hits them it can bash the door open where as your can't do that your push out means water hitting the doors pressure is far less.

If your serious about owning an expedition vessel that can handle high latitudes and have a high resistance to being holed should you hit a submerged object or a reef etc, then steel is the choice. There are several types of high corrosion resistant steel that is available in the shipbuilding industry & Bering utilise these types of steel in their boats. Having said that, a well built vessel in fibreglass is hard to beat when it comes to ease of maintenance and many have sailed the world without a structual problem. I own a steel Ketch, maintenance is high, but it is bloody strong. Nordhaven or Bering? Both well made beautiful vessels, world cruising capable, I guess Different strokes for different folks!
