It’s astonishing to me that huge projects built in the 90’s are already coming down (the Dallas stadium, the Chinese viaduct). A project that large should have MUCH longer than a 30 year life. What colossal wastes of money, energy and materials.

I lived in the Red Road flats 23rd floor) the same one seen being demolished, when my son was born I bought a case of beers to celebrate, we only had a small fridge and the freezer compartment bit was tiny, I got the baby bath that we bought and put water and ice cubes in it to put the beers in, the weather was terrible that night and the water was swaying from side to side along with the living room because of the wind? I had never stayed in a high rise flat before and learned that the building was made to bend or it would just crack and collapse, what a scary experience that was 😮

I remember seeing the the Contenental National Bank building in Fort Worth go down. I was about 2 miles away. I knew it was going to be imploded and I was showing a friend where it was. They had announced a time for the demolition about an hour later than when they actually did it. We stepped outside so I could point out which building it was, and just as I pointed, the building fell straight down. Then I heard the sound of the explosives, followed by a giant cloud of dust. Had I waited for the official time I would have missed it. It was the first building in Fort Worth that I ever saw. I was 6 years old and we were driving west on the old turnpike (now I-30), and I saw the clock which showed the time and temp. For years it was the tallest building in Fort Worth, and you could see the clock from almost anywhere in town.

@christopherjennings283010 ай бұрын
I'm sure to the misinformed they do look the same except they aren't. Watch these carefully and you see destruction of the base is what causes the collapse, any other charges insure that the building comes down orderly and in a confined space. The collapses you're referring to started in the upper third and led to a gravity fueled domino effect. No metal had to melt to accomplish this, just heated up to the point that it loses the tempering that made it strong. Combine that with the unique system of having the outer skin providing the majority of the structural integrity and you have a flaw exploitable by a guy who just happened to have a doctor's degree in structural engineering.

Yep building 1 fell in its own footprint so did building 2 then add building 3 that had not suffered any damage also falling in its own footprint, sad but its not the first time the American government has pulled off such things. May those that lost their lives on that day rest in peace. Am not American but what I saw was controlled demolition probably military grade thermite , wont say what that explosive was but HE versions of it exist, 2 many anomalies about that scenario exist and add into that the light plane that crashed into the Pentagon, strange no wreckage was found at hat event also strange how no forensic investigation was done at the WTC site and all the rubble was conveniently shipped out without analysis, by the way most of it was shipped to China as scrap steel but I digress, I find it bizarre that suddenly passports where found from the alleged hijackers at ground zero, explain that one to me, yeah one jet motor was recovered I see red flag ops all over the whole event. Disagree with me that's fine but anyone reading this comment I ask you have just watched a multitude of controlled demos falling into heir own footprint, see any similarities if no unfortunately you are either blind or indoctrinated about he events of September 11 . The first 23 seconds is the short version. No need to watch further if you're in a hurry. And the physics is badly explained around 24:40, the "higher end" does not move faster, in fact you can see it is actually lagging behind the rotation of the bottom part. If the chimney could have stayed together, the "higher end" would HAVE to move faster, but it can't so the taller items break instead.
