Being grappled against the cage or getting taken down and fighting from there for a round uses way more energy than half a boxing match. Not to mention throwing kicks, elbows, punches, knees, plus grappling and wrestling. Having to give and take all that while keeping your focus on any and all attacks. 15 minutes of a MMA fight alone easily much more exhausting than a 12 round boxing match.

I hear all this talk about the tremendous boxing skill and to be sure Floyd has excellent boxing skills but when I looked at the Pacquiao fight and seen the type of shots that were being thrown and the angles I didn't see anything that impressed me being a fan of mixed martial arts for 20 years and a fan of boxing before that so right now we are going to see if the evolution of MMA and Conor McGregor in particular has surpassed the sport of boxing as far as striking Evolution goes and if it can be implemented inside a boxing ring. And I think it will quicker than Connors prediction
