NBA analyst Kenny Smith made his top-10 NBA players list and ranked LeBron James 10th. Shannon Sharpe thinks that’s preposterous, but Skip Bayless doesn’t think Kenny Smith is too far off the mark.

Shannon, it's not that easy to threepeat TWICE but you make it seem players like Michael Jordan fall from the sky year after year. LeBron never threepeated and barely repeated. Give me 6 rings over 8 straight Finals.

@@jamesdawny1855 I agree with your point that Kenny ain't hatin. However, even tho it is HIS list, it is strange to have LeBron 10th & instead of owning it, saying it's difficult to judge between eras, all while having players from different eras on his list. But (and I know the word is relative), Kenny is a legend? As much as I like Kenny, how is he a legend in your opinion? Not saying he isn't, just curious about your perspective.

On top of this being the most sped-up game at any time, lack of defense the softest league of all time and least competitive, and now with a handful of stacked teams. Where stats are made up on the fly and narratives are shoved down your throat. Yeah it's not his fault he has to play during this time, but it's the reality and truth. He's still top 5 to me though. Marcus Schultz true bron had a easier path overall, but he still faced tough competition at times. He’s faced 60 win teams, super teams, and all time great defensive teams. The biggest thing is this: people always wanna bring up the fact Jordan is 6-0 but never bring up how he was always favored to win each championship. A huge reason why he’s even 6-0. @@nadyicolon0122 Not tryna start an argument either but jordan also never had the finals mismatches bron had: His 2007 cavs vs the spurs, 2015 cavs had kyrie and love injured, 2017 and 2018 cavs vs warriors with KD. Jordan had a stacked team throughout the 6 years of championships he had. They WERE the warriors of their time. Imagine if bron went to the warriors in 2015 and stayed there for 4 years instead of returning to the cavs. That’s 4 straight championships no question. Bron had just been delt a few bad cards throughout his career. hasn’t been part of the best organizations. Only real critique against him is only getting 2 rings in 4 years with his stacked Heat team. Regardless, they’re both phenomenal players and at the end of the day, they’ll be 1a and 1b in rankings.

The late 80s and 90s style of ball became about individual stars, commercials and show deals while exploding in popularity and goin global. So 90s players remember the "good old days" when it was all good and all about them. I hooped and I'm from that era. Nobody thinks that was the best era except guys from that era. The old,old heads love Lebron's game. The old heads of my era hate on dude. Just the fact that Skip puts him in his top ten makes that a given. But I think that Skip is so out on LeBron because Sharpe, Wright and a lot of people are calling him a God. I think these lists (all-time) can never be “right” because they rely heavily on what one values the most. Is it stats? Is it rings? Is it the finals record? Numbers of MVP or DPOY awards? Number of all star games? The amount of help? Scoring, assists, steals, blocks? On top of it all the playing style is so different as are the rules. Comparisons are damn near impossible because there are way too many unquantifiable variables that everyone values differently. There is no “real” goat to me. If you are in the top five or even ten, an argument can be made for you. Then again if it weren’t for these arguments these sports shows wouldn’t exist.

If you look at a NBA game today it looks like high school ball except for a elite few. No defense, just running around shooting 3s.Its boring and soft, To me

All Lebrons fans have in their arguments are his stats. What did they achieve ?? When it mattered the most in the big stage he failed multiple times and horribly. Lebrons brand is his stats. Without them he’s not relevant so he pads them up hard to give himself a way out and his fans an excuse to say his stats and act like it’s not his fault every single time

Weak arguments. It's a team sport not individual. So personal stats does matter

Shannon has to stop bringing up those finals appearances like lebron wasnt coming out the east. Who knows how many finals appearances he would have if he began his career out west.

besides lebron and bird whose coming out the east that consistently? you make it sound like the east is easy. it wasn’t. lebron made the east look easy. there’s a difference.

I know one god damn thing.. if he made the finals out of the west he would have gone unbeaten! Plus if he was in the west throughout his career.. he wouldn’t have joined an average team. Possibly the lakers with Kobe, OKC with KD, whatever team he would have been on would have meant they would have been the favourites to win the west.

Carlos Franco ummm kobe was drafted then traded... also came off the bench..... when your the number 1 pick. most likely you’re going to a bad situation.

Players nowaday have better skills than previous eras, but greatness aren’t defined by just skills.

Yea it kinda is..if u have the skills to dominate in this HIGHLY skilled era then that says an awful lot about ur greatness...ur skill and rings in PREVIOUS eras isn't saying much because now were smart enough to kno that older eras was lowkey really bad at basketball
