Sigh... 1. LeBron handled it much better than in 2010. Didn't you guys say you wanted a quiet announcement? Well, that's what it was. 2. Would LeBron telling the Cavs from the start that he was going to leave change anything? They still kept the pick and still drafted a kid with much more potential than actual present value. They would have done so even if LeBron had not been there the whole season. 3. What more do you want from him? He got Cleveland a title. He does not owe them almost anything. This was a professional way to do things. Compare this to what KD did with Golden State (his mom talking instead of him etc). Or Kobe when he wanted out of LA. Or Shaq when he wanted out of Orlando etc. Bron did not cause any scandal the whole season and concentrated on giving his best in the Finals (and in Game 1, probably the best anyone will ever give for some decades).

Yes he could have told them. He held his team hostage the whole year about his future. He could have easily told the front office to build for the future of the team because he wasn't sure he would come back next season. Instead he was loving all the media attention he was getting all year, while the organization was doomed because they have no say in whether he leaves or stays. Lebron was pretty much just as bad as how Khawi situation with San Antonio about whether he would play or not.

Well then, my friends, tell me this: were those not the same ESPN guys who loved the moves because the team was getting younger and more athletic, preparing for LeBron's exit? What more could Cleveland had gotten at the deadline than this? Hood was a crucial rotation guy in Indiana. Same for Clarkson. Same for Nance. They most certainly should have made these moves regardless. Because they made sense. The fact that they blew up in their faces does not matter, since it came AFTER the deadline. The moves were not only made for LeBron, but preparing for his increasingly likely exit. You think getting younger and keeping the draft pick does not help there?
