They did the same thing to Jordy except they wanted Jordy to go from 11 mil to 1 mil and they wanted Jones to go from 11 plus incentives to 4 with incentives. Before we start thinking SB the reason we made the playoffs last year was because Jones came back when we were on the outside looking in and was dominant and had we kept feeding him against the 49ers would have made the NFC Championship. This was a bad move for the Packers and don't take my word for it. Gute said he was the heart of the team.

I’m a packer fan and jones is my all time favorite packer. I’m disappointed they couldn’t beat the terrible contract he got with the Vikings. That said Jacob’s had a bad year last year on a team with the worst run blocking line in the league and a team that was run by a terrible head coach and full of drama. He’s going to bounce back in this system and behind the packers line. I think jones is the better back but it’s not a terrible choice. Jacob’s best season is better than jones best season. He has potential. I’d rather keep jones and spend the money on offensive line and draft a running back.

Skip is right about the intangibles. He was the guiding light of that team with all those young guys. He was a leader, picked guys up when they got down, was selfless, and showed the younger guys how to be true professionals. Kinda a slap in the face to try to cut his pay so drastically the year after taking a pay cut AND after Aaron just setting a 5 game packers record. Yea, he missed five games, but he came back after that and showed he was just as good as he always has been. The biggest question I have is whether Jacobs will buy in like Jones did. Sure, Jacobs is younger. Maybe he's just as talented. Maybe he's healthier. But Jones bought into the team's vision. When he was on the field, he did anything and everything that was asked of him, and he did it well. He came through for the team on big plays when few expected him to. He didn't throw a fit when his QB left. He stepped up and played for JL just the same. Jones took pay cuts and kept working hard. Will Jacobs do the same? If he doesn't, and Jones goes on to have another pro-bowl year while carrying Minnesota, we'll get our answer.

It's rare in pro sports to find someone who everyone loves... hard worker, good friend, smart, great asset to the team and young players, and TOUGH. It takes a special person to be an RB in the NFL. It's why I so many played defense. Of course you've averaged almost an extra yard per carry over Josh too. In any case, I'm sorry to see you go and honestly terrified to play against you on turf. Its so funny how all the nfc north teams do everything they can to sign GB players that have torched them for years lmfao. And almost every one of those players only signs with those teams when they offer the most money or just out of spite because they really wanted to stay in GB. Its the only reason jones went to minnesota. Had literally nothing to do with acually wanting to play there

The packers had two first round picks in 2019 and picked Gary and savage before the raiders picked Jacobs 😂 “they couldn’t go out and get him”

Hard decision for GB, but Jones didn't like the money situation. So they moved on and, in my opinion, got a great catch in Jacobs on a very favorable contract. Then they surprisingly kept Dillion, but also on a very good contract. Add in a draft pick running back and they're well set at the position. Very, very sorry to see Jones leave. He's a great person and a great performer. But that's how the system works. GB management is very good. All of which Bayless has yet to figure out.

I’m a Raiders fan but I think Jones is better because he can play as a wideout. Josh is better at breaking tackles though

Love Aaron Jones, one of my all time favorite players. But he’s approaching the dreaded age 30 for RBs and he’s increasingly injury prone. Now we have Jones who is in his mid 20s. The move makes sense, but damn it do I miss Jones already

The Packers were looking to get younger that's all. AJones is getting old in football terms and the Packers are looking ahead. That being said, it eats me up inside, being a Packer fan, that he's gone. It's never going to sit right with me. 😢😢😢

Jones is 29 years old and has had injury issues over the last 3 years. He's great when he plays, but he's unreliable. That makes him not worth $12M.

Josh Jacobs is younger and has a higher ceiling than Jones at this point. Jones was great late in the season because he missed 6 games and had fresh legs for the last five games. He was out twice with injuries and will be 30 next season. A difficult but smart decision by the Packers as Jacobs will be the running back that will get this team to the Super Bowl. Will miss Jones as he was a great running back for GB but this is a business and Gutekunst knows what he is doing.

A guy who you can't feed the ball too or else he might get hurt? No thanks. Plus he fumbles in big games. Love the guy to death but if he can't take a paycut to play for us, why can he take it to play for a rival? FOH

He took a $5 million pay cut last season, wtf u talking about jr. Yes he fumbled, tell me a RB who hasnt? He is a better option than Jacobs, Not knocking Jacobs, hes a A+ RB, but limited in versatility. @@gb342002

So the packers ask the one player that literally took them to the playoffs to take a pay cut😂 thanks Green bay for releasing the player that deserved to get paid the most. 3tds in the playoffs against the cowboys an over 100 yards rushing an another 100 yard game against the niners. U guys are great

This was a much needed move! There was no way the Packers were gonna keep Jones for more than 1 year as he was entering his final year on his contract, it was time for him to find a better team that would give him the money that he 100% deserves. Jacob’s on the other hand, screams Packers! The style he had with the Raiders, being one of the top 10 players in the 2019 draft, this was a kid I really wanted to get as a Packers fan, but we never did. Jacobs is a top 5 back! Easily without a doubt, Jacobs is gonna be a monster and fit in with Lafleur’s offense and with Love! He’s the player that ran all over the Packers in week 5! For those that hate this move, just watch Josh’s highlights! He makes a ton of sense in the style that Green Bay is all about! Mind I say this, they’re about having big RBs in the room!
