@@TheArkansasDiamondMiner that would be even better, but I should stay realistic, I want nothing smaller than 3 ct diamonds

4:16 is Barreca. Diamond Matrix is a black rock with yellow or white spots.

Awesome video as always. Can you find gems inside the volcanic rock if say i brought a pick and hammer?
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner9 ай бұрын
Most of the diamond bearing material is soft enough that you can break it apart easily, but the carat per hundred tons is low, so you would have to go through a lot of volume to have much of a chance.

i think i would use 2 gallon buckets to carry form the field. and stock pile in 5 gallon buckets near the wash plant or if i rented a cage put them in there then process once i got enough. im still working on an idea for a machine to help concentrate the materials using a Saruca as the screen base. but it takes a while to figure things out and design the features i want in it.

What’s the lengths of yours screens? And did you make them yourself?
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner4 ай бұрын
@@RedneckHillabilly 16x24 if I remember right. I bought these in Murfreesboro near the park. The 1/8 cutting screen I did make.

another thing i have wondered is if it where possible to use a shallow cone shaped screen to make the centers. then use a flat plate or platen to hold the material in place, so the shape itself makes the centers from simple vertical lift and drop motions. so that you dont need the side to side rocking, with the 90 degree turn for center making. coudl be worth looking into huh.
@spencerr52549 ай бұрын
that is an interesting idea but im curious how caved in the screen would need to be to get the heavies to the center with that concept, also I prefer having a solid flat screen because it gives me more control over the material

What mesh is the saruca? 16 also
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner9 ай бұрын
Yes, saruca and screen set are both 16 mesh.

one possibility i can imagine is some sort of near continuous feed Barrel. basically a 5 gallon bucket as 20 mesh or so that you can wash out all the silt and it would spiral up the gravels to one end that you coudl then center a you go. not sure about efficiencies but, either way its effort and reward =) and of course, it woudl be hand operated.

According to their page you can rent a saruca in addition to a set of screens. Have you used theirs? Is there any major difference between theirs and the muddy miner you linked to? Not sure I want to invest that much into a single day visit unless it will make a worthwhile difference.
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner9 ай бұрын
The Muddy Miner Saruca is very rigid and has a tight screen. The rentals are actually plastic hoop with a saggy screen with dimples caused by damage. My thoughts are that if you are going to invest in everything it takes to make the trip, why let one critical step cost you the chance at finding one.
