Her vocals were so on point. I don't think her voice has ever been as good as her Madison square garden show. She literally blows you away. Her voice just melts me. Pure perfection. Mariah Carey can still sing very well with rested, however she had the best instrument in the history of music, there is no voice that can match all the characteristics of her voice, range , agility, constant ringing quality, pleasant tonal quality in every register, mastery of whistle register, low notes and so on, plus she also mastered every technique, she can perform any technique in any registers. And her voice was so unique, so light but at the same time so powerful and resonant especially in upperbelts, strong but at the same time fluid and elastic. At her best she is just unbeatable.

Whitney has always had that church sound that is boring and repetitive. The best voice doesn't exist when it is based on something as subjective as tone. 98-99 It was Mariah's vocal decline but her only problem are the nodules that limit the consistency of her voice, it has happened that Mariah has equaled or surpassed her performance in her prime sometimes even in the last few years like for Joy to the world at Beacon theater for example. I said the best instrument and Mariah has the best instrument.

@@Diapontios Opera singers sing only opera, they are classically trained, they almost only use Headvoice, they don't use every vocal register, most of them don't have whistle register and don't use falsetto because considered "wrong", they lack versatility and musicality, something that is very important for a vocalist, they have an incredible technique but again because they are classically trained, Opera singers are Opera singers, mainstream singers are mainstream singers. Two different worlds, not comparable because they have not had the same training. But in my opinion you can't have the best instrument if you don't have versatility and don't use every vocal register. I also love how you thinking that I was talking about technicalities and you immediately talked about opera singers because you know that no one in mainstream music can touch Mariah. We will never know the real potential of mainstream singers trained as opera singers, especially if they have always had a damaged voice by nodules like Mariah, exactly how we won't know if opera singers would be on par with mainstream without the same classical training. They're not comparable. Two different things.
