I wish the State of NJ, would do this, to one degree or another, they have a forest fire, and pines will grow up thick, as can be, no thinning is done, just trees that are tall and spindly waiting for the next spark, it seems that only private land owners really manage their woods properly, thank for your video encouraging "uneven aged forest"

I see a lot of this even aged management and hope to go to school for forestry and eventually become a land owner. also is this similar to select cut?

If this is a variant of select cut, then the variation that permits improvement is key...as normal select cut does not typically provide the ROI of clear cut. For instance, how do you avoid damage to adjacents on reach-in, or offset the equipment moving costs in a modified select cut. Perhaps a 3rd-row-thin with replant, but how to manage the reseeding competition, and what of crown closure shading the replant?

Forest sould only be harvested every 12 years only light harvest you dont need to be forester to know that just common sense.

Thats not necessarily practical. It is a lot more complex than one might think.
