UNEXPECTED Catch From SIDE of ROAD! (FL Keys Bridge Fishing)

I got another Florida Keys Bridge fishing video for you guys. This time I headed down solo and met up with Chad from ‪@Chadgonefishing‬ . We started the morning fishing the incoming tide switch using live shrimp and pinfish as bait. The tide switches are key when fishing the keys bridges as the fish go on a feeding frenzy. We caught keeper black grouper, big mangrove snapper, and plenty of yellow jacks! I love land based, as I grew up fishing piers and the beach. I love showing people that you don't always need a boat to catch quality fish! The Florida keys bridges prove that time and again! Growing up here in NW FL we use to go campout on the intercoastal in Navarre for 1 to 2 weeks at a time....my mom caught a nice calico grouper off the beach that looked a lot like those grouper. Very good eating. Now that was some 50 years ago....still great memories, especially since we lost her last year.

The space between the two bridges are either coral reefs or sand bars. I dove one in September and you would float across grass then coral reef then grass. That’s probably why that one platform was full of fish cause it was sitting on a reef

What is the reason you hook the shrimp.in the tail rather than between the eyes?

Snapper tend to grab the head first, then start to eat while swimming away. Tail hooking allows the shrimp to pop naturally before getting eaten.
