Nice footage. If you would go for some more speed here, what would you change in trim, stance, course?

Thanks. Great question! To go faster a few more knots: Move the mast base back a couple of cm (helps the board “fly” on the fin), edge the board more on the leeward rail (reduces wetted surface and minimizes friction), lengthen the harness lines a tad (transfers more power to the board/fin), stiffen up the knees (helps to skip over the chop), downhaul the sail a smudge more (loosens the leech and helps the sail to “release” the wind), and go broad reach a bit more. Edit: oh, I forgot, a smaller fin!

C😅ngrats. Next : Lake Michigan? How did you do to insert speed and map in the video? Latest GoPro function?
@whynowind8 күн бұрын
Thanks! Crossing Lake Michigan would be a challenge. 60 miles on the same tack would be physically difficult. I think there’s one windsurfer who did that a little while back. However, Lake Winnebago 30miles lengthwise is doable (I did it a few years ago)! I use Telemetry Overlay. Very effective and relatively easy to use. A bit expensive but that’s a one-time fee! You can download a trial version with full functionality but with an unremovable watermark (doesn’t appear in the paid version). Otherwise, you can find free-to use app online but they don’t have the flexibility and features I need. To use a telemetry app on your videos, you need a camera or a GPS watch from which you can access or save a GPX file to sync with your video.
