For the wax prints, I made a Style Arc Hope dress in a wax print and I love it. A maxi length shift would be great too. Really anything without a lot of seam lines to keep the print intact. For the stripe fabrics, Paper Theory Olya shirt.

Hi Nancy, thanks for those ideas, I love the Hope dress!

I think the beaded fabric would make a stunning long wrap skirt. The large prints, maybe long coats, dusters style coats, long straight shift dresses. That first 50's style fabric would make amazing palazzo pants.

Hi Jennett, thank you, I think a duster coat in one of the large scale prints would be great!

Hi, my suggestion would be the Ludo Capelet by Maven Patterns for the upholstery type fabric? I've also made the Nova by papercut in a similar weight fabric. Looking forward to seeing your ideas! I'm off to walthamstow market myself today, so hope I'm as lucky as you!

Hi Rachael, thanks I love the Ludo Capelet, hope you enjoyed your visit to Walthamstow, I was there yesterday too, I found a lovely stripe viscose.

Fun video! Here’s what popped up in my thoughts - 1) indigo jacquard - due to the weight of the fabric, a simple cropped jacket that would let the design shine & a bag/purse with the leftovers; 2) orange beaded satin - a kimono wrap would look stunning over a black outfit; 3) green ochre wax print - a simple summer shift dress & a waist coat with the leftovers; 4) charcoal spot jersey - would be fabulous in a DVF wrap dress. I love the wax print bag you made - wonderful fabric choices!

I think that circles heavy fabric would work really well as a cocoon-style jacket like the Nova or that Maison Fauve open jacket. The wax prints would make a lovely 50s-style dress, with a fitted bodice and a flared skirt.

Thanks Eileen, definitley think that Maison Fauve jacket would look great in the circles!

Orange plain viscose - zadie jumpsuit, beaded fabric- scarf or shawl, you would want to minimise washing, indigo/gold/ivory fabric - peppermint magazine robe pattern, green leafy print - a trousers and top coord set, african wax - shift dress or quilted collarless jacket

I am really glad you enjoyed the Burda Magazines.I was thinking about your fabrics and the sort of things you like.Sistermag patterns may be a good source of inspiration .I have made the very full blouse with the yoke,no.64 4 and it came out really well. They have a very modern but paired down sort of vibe and I don't think I have seen any patterns like them.

Hi Sally, thank you so much for sending them, I have just taken a quick look at Sistermag patterns and they are fab! I haven't seen them before, they are really contemporary but very wearable! x

When I saw the "Indigo, gold and ivory", I thought of a straight, long skirt. Would the brown swirl and purple fabric be suitable for a coat, like the Burda pattern you showed? As a teenager (decades ago) I used to make shirts from Habitat curtain fabrics. The downside was the fading when I washed them, curtain fabrics weren't meant for regular washing. Thank you for showing some of your stash, it's always fun to see what other people have. Have fun, Diane

Jungle print green - palazzo pants Beaded satin print - wrap shawl Orange viscose crepe - a fitted jacket over the poly crepe stripe in a fuller bias cut skirt Irregular polka dot cream voile - blouse with a tie bow at the neckline Black and cream stripe and the zebra stripe - possibly use both fabrics in one outfit - top in zebra and bottom in stripe or block print shell combining the two??

I'm also wondering what to do with the large prints I am so attracted to. Recently I sewed up the new Cora top by Tessuti. It has a centre seam on the front and was problematic with the large print I chose. I decided to go for it and finished the centre seam with a ribbon sewn down from top to bottom. Turned out great! No real suggestions for your fabric as I'm a pretty new sewer but I'm wondering if you could use some of the larger motifs for appliqué??? Perhaps on a jacket or overshirt?? I like the idea of that striped fabric for pants with the plain orange for a top. Now what to do with all these large prints I have....

Sorry - more suggestions! Zebra print definitely a jersey maxi - what about new look k6650? The snake print an oversized shirt or a duster jacket - looking forward to seeing what you actually make!

Those fabrics are gorgeous. The beaded fabric I would make a top. It wont be comfortable to sit on beads.

I just found you channel and I love it. I will be traveling to London (from NYC) the last week in August. Are there any sewing related events, meetups, etc. during that time? Any suggestions on must see places a sewist must see while traveling to London? Thanks!!

Hi, I have a couple of videos of my Fabric hauls which are in London - Walthamstow and Central London. If you are visiting Liberty you may also like to visit Joel and Son as well as Berwick Street (where there are a couple of fabric shops), Goldhawk Road in West London is full of fabric shops (I also have a video on this), there is a fantastic haberdashery shop in Poland Street called MacCullloch and Wallis too, I hope you enjoy your trip!
