Hi Jom. I use to think that the apps would automatically suggest the closest chains to my location. I was sometimes unintentionally ordering from locations that were nearby, but not necessarily the closest. To fix this I try to favorite the chains that are closest and only order from those favorites. If I don't see the favorite icon when ordering, then I know that I've clicked on a chain that is farther away. It may be that there are other factors that determine which locations are pushed to a customer. Thanks for the videos and for surviving the heat and road ragers.

I personally would have yielded to that person. It was kind of obvious they were trying to pull out and the car in front of you was stopped anyways. If you're coming to a rolling stop like that you should try to avoid blocking people into spaces/driveways/whatever.

I have ordered from Uber Eats and the closest location was default, but you can select another location. DD seems to send it wherever it wants to sometimes.

Granted, sometimes on the tablet turn off the local location because they don’t have much stuff at night. But I know at least one time I caught it and was able to switch it to the one closer. But never just assume that if you click on 7-Eleven, For instance that it’s going to be the one that’s closer to your house. I used to think or maybe it was a good reason like that Dollar General closer to their house was out of some of the items but I no longer have any delusions about them actually having reasons for doing what they do at DoorDash. 😂

yea, I don’t understand why they order from so far, I have order Uber-eats, I order from like a mile away, one time I order DD from around a mile, they sent me a driver from 5 miles away, I had the same store by my house, so I don’t understand how they do that🤷🏻‍♀️

Same thing a lot of times it’s a far away restaurant and the house is not that far from the restaurant but I guess I’m the closest delivery driver available so they try to get me to take those for like five Cents. When somebody here has ordered the same thing we order from a mile away and then we have to wait while somebody coming from like 10 miles away have to make a couple other stops first. Especially when one of my kids orders in particular, because he prefers to surprise them with cash. But he has learned to at least put part of it on there or he really has to wait. 😂

I never order from someplace that's more than 4 miles from my house. I'm also a door dasher and I feel a certain way about driving far for not as great an offer but I usually have to take those to keep my ratings high and more often than not I'm blessed with a better order or a customer that pays a higher tip than the actual offer price.

Unless the order came in after you already ordered (I know technically you’re supposed to be unpause for that but if it’s a really slow day It’s hard to press pause when that one decent order might come in especially if it might be for the place that you’re at at the moment) you’re not supposed to shop or pick up food for yourself while picking up an order. So next time finish your order and then run in and get the Uber order if you can’t wait to get your own. I have ordered things on the app for McDonald’s when nothing was happening and then if I get a dash I will go grab that and do that and then go back for mine. But my point is not to be a goody two shoes, but just don’t point out to the person working there that you’re grabbing something for yourself and a delivery because he may not even know the rules but if you get a manager or somebody, especially if they’re in a bad mood, they could report it. And she definitely should’ve waited till it was clear to back up. But I definitely think YOU got the road rage about it. 😂 but you can vent to us anytime. Safer than fighting with other drivers. Especially if they are seriously road raging!

What I will say however is, in my driving experience. Always assume drivers will do something stupid. All you can do is stop, give them the space to do so and go about your merry way. I disagree. Sometimes trying to be nice could have bad results. The driver reversing has obstructed view due to the two cars. Not to mention the possibility of a 4th car entering the shopping plaza, which could cause a bottle neck with the car that's turning right and Jom. It's best for that driver to wait for it to be clear.

Just playing devils advocate here... but if you pause at 5:04.. you still have some distance and her car has reverse lights on and is nearly halfway out of the space. You could have just let that driver out tbh instead of pushing up in that space. Yes that person responded a bit overboard over something so petty but in hindsight shes prob thinking alright i'm halfway out why is this car pushing up on me. Like I get it if it was a like a greenlight and she was halting traffic, but its a stop sign right there. Just let her in and move on.
