I have a 2015 Chevy 1500, 8” bds lift but I took the strut spacers out, and got 7-9” lift struts, kryptonite upper control arms, rides so smooth. Also have kryptonite tie rods, waiting for them to get the heavy duty wheel bearings in stock, putting those on before I get my 26x14‘s. Currently running 22x12 and 37x13.50. Now running 26x14’s on 37’s with 2” spacers front and back, got heavy duty cv axles and kryptonite wheel bearings.

@@idkwhattoput5807 not yet, I’m now running 26x14’s and 37’s and getting 12-13 mpg. Truck still handles good, re gearing in the next few months probably, going to 4:10 gears.

I'm running 35s on my 2017 L5P Denali, totally stock suspension, no crank etc. No rubbing, it can be done.

Great video and content JW. Awesome info on the different lifts and how to achieve the different heights. Also learned something new about the 6" and 7" lifts start with using 4" lift kit.

Cranking the torsion bars also makes it stiffer and lessens travel. For how much your spending on those lift kits you would be probably cheaper and better to just solid axle swap it. Stronger and don't have to worry about snapping those CV shafts if you ever take it offroad.

Unless I’m going 15”+ I prefer IFS. Much softer ride and handles better if upgraded properly

Should measure bolt hole to bolt hole and see how much the crossmembers actually drop everything. Would be cool to compare. A lot of different lift companies will say 7" but a lot aren't when you measure and they will also drop the diff different amounts, all contributing to how your cv angles will end up.

💯 % excellent video explaining everything on lift kits, I get so tired of explaining this over and over, going to now send your detailed video. Any ways I have a friend that has a 2015 2500HD DENALI with a 6in Procomp lift kit and wants a softer ride , he already replaced shocks with Fox shocks with remote resivores and still wants a softer ride only thing I came up with is Cognito soft ride torsion bars and their torsion keys not sure if this will help him out. What is your opinion ? nice white 1500 needs Fox Coilovers that Cognito used to sell on their website

I've watched alot of your video's in the past but just recently subscribed and considering U said that You had started out not knowing much , WOW !!! Your a FAST learner ! Anyway my question is that all of what I watch NO one gets in detail about the Magnetic ride on extending the arms for the controllers . I had made my own way back on a 09 LTZ Suburban but I'm looking at lifting my 19 . Also back in the day Body lifts were a Plus but it's went away. I have a question, I’m more a of a leveled and 35’s kinda guy, but ran into a 15 lml truck jacked up like yours but sitting on 40’s and 24x14’s, I’m sure the truck has a bigger turbo because it cold push those 40’s, I’m not new to the diesel world, but lift kit wise, yes I’m new, I know a bit but not a lot, if I did buy the truck, what would you recommend on wheel bearing check ups? Every 15-3000 miles? If I did buy it, it would be my weekend truck, so not much a daily driver.

I need some info from y’all pros that do this all the time, please!! I am struggling on finding info on the wheels needed to run on a Mcgaughys 7-9” lift I’m about to put on my 2018 GMC 1500 Sierra….. I do not understand what McGaughys instructions says about the correct wheels for the lift. I’m wanting to set it at 7”, and my stock wheels are the 20” snowflakes….. can I run these wheels or do I need different wheels? If I need new wheels, I would like to stay with 20” wheels still… I have no idea what I need to be looking for as far as backspacing, and offset. I’d like to find some 20 x 12’s or 20x10’s but when I look on the different marketplaces, I have no idea what I should be looking for. I have searched for 20” wheels with 35 x 12.5 x 20 tires, and found a ton with the GM 6 x 5.5 , but are all wheels with 35” tires on GM pattern wheels going to have the right backspacing? I’m SO confused!!!! Please help! Thank you!!

Screw IFS. Solid axle kids is always the way to go when lifting a diesel. To many parts break on IFS and not worth it long term.

I’ve seen some horrendous solid axles… never had any issues with my IFS with routine maintenance and proper upgrades

between my father and I, we have over 400k on lifted 3/4 GM’s. proper maintenance and never have either of us been stranded by a broken front end. now excuse us as we ride down the highway nice and straight without sawing on a wheel.

Noticed you have kryptonite tie rods on your mcgaughys lift. I was told they wouldn’t work because of the bump stop. Have you had any issues?

Hey JW, love your content and have been using it for recon. I'm prepping to install a 7-9 Cognito lift on my 2008 2500HD. My plan is to run it with the keys dialed down as I just want to accommodate 35's. What Devers would you suggest for 1" of sag? What full floating traction bar set up would you suggest? Very much appreciate any feedback you could provide.

Get rid of the spacers and do the lift struts. I had a 6" with strut spacers. I put the mcgauphys with strut lift. Rides really nice

Their lifts aren't all they are cracked up to be. Their powder coat is absolutely dog shut. Only had it a year and it's rusted to hell. Buy cognito!! Way better powder coat and will last you longer!!
