Collateral rule, brokerage charge and margin benefits are all interconnected. If you want to use 100% collateral, many of the times brokerage will be per lot & not per order and haircut will be high. If you want to save brokerage cost, collateral will be limited or even suggest 100% cash. My experience with following brokers:- 1. SAS Online - Fixed brokerage for unlimited trades - Rs.999 p.m. But margin has to be 100% cash. You can also go for 100% collateral through their stock plus plan. But they dont accept MFs and haircut is very high. Brokerage in that case would be Rs.9 per order. 2. Angel Broking - Not clear and transparent on 50% cash. Every time customer care gives a different reply. Some say MFs are accepted, some say they don't. No one at Angel is clear on this at the root level. Brokerage anyways is same - Rs.20 per order 3. Motilal - They charge brokerage per lot and even ask to maintain 50% cash margin. Hence not suggested at all. But they accept Stocks, MFs and even NCDs for that case. Not many brokers accept NCDs as it is highly illiquid. 4. Zerodha - very transparent and clear rules as to 50% cash margin. Brokerage is Rs.20 per order and interest is charged if 50% is not maintained. 5. Zebu - I don't have an account. But customercare told me that only 25% cash margin is required. But haircut is more, almost double that of zerodha. Also brokerage is per lot. 6. Samco - I don't have an account. But they also have a plan similar to Stockplus where 100% collateral is accepted without any requirement of 50% cash or cash equivalents. But again haircut is high and MFs are not accepted. What I do:- 1. Use SAS online - 100% cash. Fixed brokerage unlimited trades. 2. Angel/Zerodha - For my long term investments & MFs. Pledge it for Option Selling and maintain 50% cash. If someone is offering you 100% collateral, ask them the haircut and brokerage. Remember brokers here are to make money out of you. It doesn't matter to them whether you make money or not. Do a thorough research before you open any account. Hope you find it useful.

I have portfolio of 25L in Nirmal bang and every month they are charging DPC (Delayed payment charges @ 18% interest). Even though my stocks are pledged with them, hardly I use more than 50-60% of my collateral margin). If your statement on collateral is true then big issues with Nirmal Bang service. I think you got it wrong on DCP charges. All brokers charges DCP. Exchanges stipulate that for overnight F&O positions, 50% of the margin needs to compulsorily come in cash and the remaining 50% can be in terms of collateral margin. If you don’t have enough cash, your account will be in debit balance and there will be a delayed payment (interest) charge, a charge of 0.05% per day applicable to the debit amount

The brokerage charged by his broker is per lot. Not per order brokerage. It's pathetic to see not all facts are provided to the viewers. So, tell me jegan, how are you different from other brokers that rob traders? Put a video on how it is beneficial even after having per lot brokerage and then it'll be useful to watch such promotional videos
