Unfinished Brutal Quake II Mod

I know there are many people asking me to release the mod (and source), but unfortunately I lost all my files not long after I uploaded this video due to my laptop's sudden death. In retrospect not a lot of work was done in terms of programming and models, so that can be redone at some point. Who knows, maybe I'll pick it up some time in the future.

Looked pretty good. I have had my ideas of making a "Brutal Quake 2" on GZDoom (since people already ported all monsters and weapons from Quake into it, and it would be easier to do it there since the engine can handle lasting gibs and advanced weapon stuff better). You should consider finishing this.

This is awesome, mod takes goodies from DOOM 4 (exept Glory kills) and put them in my lovely Quake 2. Modders need to keep working on it.

Quake 2 is brutal enough, maybe add some sadistic sounds and some mark of the devils fingers signs? But damn, I still like Quake2 a lot, okay maybe not anymore the original 3DFX Voodoo version, cause I'm playing with the Quake2XP mod. I like the Lightmapping relief a lot that gives you a new 'perspective' to the bumpmapping of the coblestones. Also the reflections and the mush sharper textures are cool. The bloomy light effects gives this game that game I dreamt about back in the nineties.

In my opinion, there is nothing great in that mod except the opportunity to beat stroggs with your leg or throw barrels in them. Bodies explode like there is a damn grenade in them - that looks more ridiculous than brutal. Original Quake 2 is brutal enough so there is no need in trying to make it better.

Hey, you say that Quake 2 has an entity limit that removes gibs etc. Maybe you could make the mod using the KMQuake2 engine wich has some nice blood decals and greater entity limit.
