I used to sit with my parents and listen to Dilip Roy when I was barely seven. My mama was a big fan of Dilip Roy and would get mad if we children make any sound. He used to close his eyes and tell us Dilip Roy songs used to take him to another world - by the way I am now 74 years old and been living in USA for over 35 years. He is divine.

My grandfather Late Dr. Jnan Majumdar was Dilip Kumar Roy's cousin brother. I have heard these songs since my childhood days. My dad and grandpa both used to sing these songs and I gave grown up listening to these songs. To me these songs are simply bliss. However, not everyone may ike these songs.

My father also loved to listen to Dilip Kumar Roy,'s long playing record in seventies beginning when I was studying in college . He used listen daily in the morning . My father was a devotee of Sri Aurobindo also . I too developed a love for his songs . Nowadays every morning when I go for a walk I listen to Dilip Kumar Roy's song . It takes me to a different world altogether and I get inspiration to start the day listening to such divine golden voice and songs . I am 70 now .

Dilip Roy is a gharana that no one can replicate. There is only one Dilip Roy. There are quite a few other songs which are not here. Sahanadi of Pondicherry had been his disciple for long and taught a few who may have some more of such collection. Yes Krishnadi was fortunate to have learnt from him. Dilip Roy is inimitable and immortal. Then he sings 'Tumi amaye korley grohon bhoy dyakhabe amaye she ke....' you really feel protected

I am so delighted to find the unforgettable songs of Dilip Kumasi Roy and his student Hasi or Uma Basu !! Thanks to Saregama to publish these wonderful songs ! I used to hear those songs in late thirties and early forties and tried to follow their style when I appeared at ‘Khelaghor’ of All India Radio, Dhaka. I sang ধন ধান্য পুষ্প ভরা using the music and style of respected Dilip Kumar Roy. Some musicians of A.I.R. initially, objected. But, when I presented our record of this song by D.K.Roy, they allowed me to sing. I was only 11 then. Now, at my old age, whenever I am asked to sing this song , I still sing using respected Dilip Kumar’s unique style and tune. He was great. Too bad, Uma Basu passed away so early ! I remember, I cried when a I heard of her death! My mother sobbed with me.

I am 38, and consider myself a good listener of music, I listen to all types of music, absolutely, everything from the latest bollywood film hits to one direction, but i was truly overwhelmed when I came across this collection. I remember my dad playing his songs on a Murphy tape recorder we had then; I was barely 5 or 6 with his lingering voice and such ethereal compositions.
