Still my favourite episode of the original Unforgotten Realms. Whenever I need a smile on my face I just go rewatch this. :D

You know, an alternate solution to the puzzle would be to throw the dead dog, then the pole the villagers were tied to, and then Gaary. He stated previously that he was basically immortal. So they would have rescued all villagers without having to kill anyone.

Wait... If they only needed to jump at the same time, when they threw the second son, wouldn't the trap disengage?

+DoctorZtormtrooper what I mean is, as soon as his weight was taken off, right when he was thrown, not when he his the acid.

+DoctorZtormtrooper while this is true, the old man would be so shocked at the death of "his sons" if both had not died.

Throwing someone means they fall to where you threw them. If they threw them off the cliff one of two things happened. 1) He was thrown in the acidic slime like his brother and died. 2) He was thrown and the spell dissipated, thus reforming the ground (while he's falling though) thus crushing him into the earth and killing him. Shmoopy and Gary killed his sons instead of figuring out the puzzle.. like an @$$h013.

At that point I would have to ask is the platform going up or is the ground going down and how far, and how fast? Because if the platform moved up, I find it fairly reasonable to assume that Eluamous, at the very least, would attempt to catch him as he falls to mitigate some of the falling damage. If the land moves down, however, then it may hurt, but him landing wouldn't cause most anyone a fatal wound.

The trap seemed to take a little while to activate, so maybe it took a little while to deactivate as well.

One, Throw the wolf, Two Kill gary and throw him into the acid. Three Give Eluamous the stone and have him turn into a shmoopy's grandma's class. Four cast teleport into the air. Five prepare action to change into wizard Six cast feather fall.
