hunter is using irst to track so they don t get a warning for being locked just the fact that their are picked up on the search radar

I was using IRST lock as much as I could, so that maybe made them feel a little bit safer.

@@pko6596 RWR should still give off missile launch warning, IRST may not be detected but the guiding signals are. Given that he was shooting them down at 9km+, it really should've given them enough time to react at all, which they didn't. Even then, knowing there is a Roland on radar, why even get in the 12km zone, especially so unprepared for a missile launch.

@@Hunter_i86 I guess so, but I certainly wouldn't feel safe with a launch warning on my RWR, but they still didn't seem to care too much. Given they already knew you were there, by detecting search radar, they really could've done better. BUT, not that I am complaining, more competent CAS players are certainly not something I dream about either.

Nice play, that's a GG well played. That's a proper way to perform air strike using the Tornados. Targets wiped out but the plane survive.

It is a long journey, without money but focusing events, grinding the tasks, winning prizes and trading in the marketplace, then using GJNs to get premium packs basically for free like XM-1, T-55AM1, Leo L44, BO-105, Mi-24D, Wyvern, Meteor ... etc, which helped me a lot grinding the favorite nations of mine, USA, USSR, GER & UK, and France came later when Mirages started to be seen in the aviation tree. And after joining Gaijin partnership program in 2020 I started to get monthly support from them, represented in GE, permanent vehicles and test drives, which significantly helped to keep the content going with very little grind to be honest. warthunder.com/en/media/partnership

I love playing Flarakrad but i always wonder how it would feel to play Pantsir with those 20km missiles and insane radar. Do you prefer Flarakrad over it?

Pantsir S1 still the best for sure because it doesn't trigger any jet RWR yet without the need to switch to IRST. However, the 50G VT-1 missile can still kill a plane even if it was in a perfect notch, it is very deadly missile. I also like the German truck over ItO 90M mainly because it has smoke grenades which can disrupt a lot of laser and TV guided munitions.

How were you able to lock on targets without aiming directly at them in the flarakrad? It looked similar to locking with a jet. I have issue often not being able to find targets that pop up on radar and pulling off what you did to lock through smoke etc is so much better than having to pixel peep and have the crosshair directly on the enemy before i can lock

As you said, it is like with jets, stay on TRK mode, not IRST .. then press select target to lock button to switch between targets, then lock button.

@@Hunter_i86 It’s crazy it takes forever to spool them up. By the time you get a lock on a pantsir you’re dead. I do the low alt runs and I’ll pop up within a few KM get a lock fire and bug out but that’s almost useless now. I’m just gonna try dumb bombs / drag bombs

There were fails of course, usually when target gets destroyed before my bombs reach, or when it moves. The target should stay static.

Yes the CAS spam is bad haha. But hey, these pilots are flying their planes using real sim controls vs SPAA players with mouse aim and RB controls, so I respect them for that.
