I was watching a tv show about an 8 month old dog that knew a hundred words while babysitting my newborn nephew and his 6 year old sister. I thought babies habe to be smarter than dog's. I only babysat once a week so I got my 6 year old niece to experiment on the baby. I had her try to teach 4 words to him. Hard Soft and Hot Cold. By having him feel hard and soft objects and Hot and cold ones (really warm and cool, I'm not crazy) alternatively. We "Forgot" to tell my brother and sister-in-law. At nine weeks, yes weeks, at a Checkup with the Doctor, she used a cold stethoscope and he grabbed it and said "Cold"! She tried again and he said it again. She called in the other Doctors and in and he said it for them again. His Doctor wrote it up in his chart and all the Doctors signed it as witnesses. Give it a try. Remember to use paired alternates one at a time. Putting the object in his hand and saying the word. Use different objects each session if you can. Keep it to a couple of minutes every day. And please use COOL and WARM objects not hot and cold. Don't expect an immediate response, my niece didn't get one before she gave up at 3 and a half months

@@liriosogno6762 The water in the bath is one of the most potent homeopathic liquids. :-) Homeopathy is the theory, stuff that causes a symptom, may cure things that show the same symptoms. But you need to dilute it, also called "increasing the potency". So a bathtub full of water is basically one of the most healthy things ever and should be able to cure everything. Because the water must have touched so many poisonous unhealthy stuff over the millenia, while at the same time diluted so much by rivers, ocean, rain etc., that it must be a cure-anything medicine by now. *sips a glass of water* I hope I don't die from overdose. ;-) I hope my explanation makes some sense. I think you should write the book that is easiest for you to write. I would read a book where it goes Chapter 1. Why write this book. In it you describe how life is busy, list some examples of how busy, pontificate briefly on why would anyone want to read what you have to say anyway. Immediately realise someone is reading your words and then you thank those three people. You realise you need a coffee, you mention that, then you put an elipses ... and tell us that your Wife needed you to do something typically husbandy. You then end the chapter and move on to the second which would be something like Chapter 2. How to make a decent cup of tea and why it is generally superior to coffee, unless you really need a coffee in which case a cup of tea just isn't up to snuff. You then Rowan on for a period of time and find yourself ready to move on to chapter 3. Chapter 3. I am writing this one while on shift. Oop, hang on, I have to help a person not be dead. Ok, I'm back, I'm in the car. I'm making notes on a coffee cup I have handy for the purpose. Luckily the air has the memory of a recent anxiety drug so I'm feeling homeopathically relaxed. Oh, while I think of it, get regular exercise. You don't need a lot. A recent study in the US identified that even ten minutes of exercise where you get your heart rate to a point where you find yourself noticeably breathing is sufficient to cause an improvement in overall cardiovascular efficiency. (Then you comment on this study. You mention that you anecdotally got fitter once your kids learned to move faster than you) Chapter 4.

AND/OR. You alternate chapters so that every third (I get that that isn't alternate) is an If It Ducks like a Quack rant. Especially since you already have a cover. And it will make further YouFace videos easier because you can paraphrase your book while recording the Audible version, which in typical Rowan fashion doesn't actually follow what you originally wrote.

Was referred to a cardiologist once to make sure my suspected POTS and orthostatic hypotension weren't caused by a heart problem. Got told by said cardiologist I'm depressed, I have demons, and he asked me if I go to church. The question: If that cardiologist is qualified in both psychology AND religious divination, am I qualified as a herpetologist to refer him to a proctologist for a prostate exam with a sandpaper glove?
@clockworkkirlia74754 жыл бұрын
Okay so how dare you introduce those concluding six words in that order to my life. But also holy shit, I'd expect better from a cardiologist. I mean, I've had CFS for ten years so I don't expect *that* much better from much of anyone but, still, that's almost criminal levels of irrelevant pseudomedical nonsense. I hope other medics have shown you better treatment, and I hope that you're as well as can be expected!

Reminds me of when I was in the hospital with paralysis and was referred by the hospitalist to a neurologist who told me in his office after I was discharged that my problem was my "chi" was blocked because I didn't believe in myself enough and that he could fix the problem by almost touching me but not quite. Essentially waving his hands around my head I guess? He spent the rest of the the appointment bragging about his martial arts skills. Side note, I do have POTs and can confirm it is caused by a demon but he's pretty cool to hang out with so I can't complain
@clockworkkirlia74754 жыл бұрын
@@kinseybay97 ...What kind of neurologist believes that chi is some sort of magic force!? If anything, "Chi" is a mysticised abstraction of bodily self-awareness or literally just the act of getting some oxygen into your blood via the breath. My dad was a cardiologist and loved it and funny enough, he said exactly the same thing "Neurology is fascinating but there are still many (quite terrible) diseases that you really can't do anything about and in cardiology, you deal with sometimes very ill people but when you are in time, often you can help them a lot" that really stuck with me and it's cool to hear the same thing from you. I am an engineer and I work on some cardiology related research projects myself now :) Comment: I do think however, it is getting better, I know quite a few people who had critical Brain conditions (tumors, aneurysms) and were operated by neurosurgeons to make a full recovery and continue with life as it was before. And as for neurological diseases, I think the underlying mechanisms are being understood better and better and soon there is hope for many of them. :)

I know I'm late to the party, but microbiologist here to answer the soap and alcohol question: So most drug immunities are caused by bacteria being able to skip the affected step, whilst alcohol and soap cause lysis. Think of it like a car journey, where the end destination results in cell division: Antibiotics attack the route by destroying the highways and mining the roads. Resistance occurs when the bacteria finds a random backroad that still leads to the destination. Soap and alcohol just nuke the car.

I'm Spanish but I highly prefer your content in English, not because your Spanish is bad (in fact, I think it's really good for a British person) but because of the tone and accent of your voice, which, I don't know why, but I don't quite like it. Nevertheless, that's just my opinion and I, in fact, think it's a great idea for you to translate your content to Spanish to make it available to all those people that aren't as lucky as me and don't now English. He had 2 young kids and a wife, and he worked really hard and it was exhausting, he was rarely home for a while and they had to move states for his residency, but now he's been a doctor for about 20 years. Serious reply to the question of what book to write: Something similar in style to "Kitchen Confidential" by Anthony Bourdain. The "real" stories behind the scenes in a cardiology department, that completely makes the hype and glamour of TV hospital shows look utterly absurd. You had some ace stories in this video, all you have to do is get someone (maybe even you!) to write them down.

"What kind of book do you think I should write?" Sci-fi. One of Michael Crichton's early books was "A Case of Need". It centered on medicine. But there is a deeply analytical perspective in his body of work that probably came from his experience in medical school. I would imagine your experience as a doctor would give you a variety of insights in new or obscure technologies. You can make it thrilling. Love your videos. Thanks for making them.

Thanks for the content and great to hear you and your family are feeling much better 👍🏻
