Watched until the end, definitely warmed me back up to S&V. I think a lot of people saw the values of SV base initially plummeting and turned them back to SWSH. But you can't deny that these early SV sets and the arts are so much better than the early SWSH sets. This era is definitely slept on heavy

I love watching grown adults fomo right into 12 year old brain with S&S hype dumping money to whoever will take it just so they can jump in late. Just feeding profits to the people that bought most of those sets at $80 a box when no one else wanted it and S&V is exactly the same. Loved buying all the S&V boxes at $75 stacking cases whenever i felt like getting something in the mail. I never really open anything but i love Paldea Evolved even pulled the Magikarp last weekend from a random $22 costco tin bundle I just happened to see while getting groceries. Even the Obsidian negativity is mainly because of 151 and if twilight and obsidian releases were swapped it would be a different story. Obsidian is a favorite with all the kids i know they love the pull rates and could care less about 151. I've never liked Evolving Skies anyways and I own a few cases of booster boxes. Everyone hates it when its cheap but as soon as the hype train rolls in they will gladly jump on and pay 5X of what they could have just months before.

I think Temporal Force is very underrated. 2 sets of trio chase cards, Gastly/Gengar cards, difficult pull rates. If the Waifu cards were of more popular ladies, it will bump the popularity of the set even more.

IRs are just easier to sell/pump when its mostly older pokemon when all the SARs are all newer stuff. i agree SV block is amazing and TM is awesome. i love the Perrin and Carmine SARs they are such amazing cards!

We just don't realise how good it is yet because it's so available and it's the EXACT same thing that happened with SWSH 2 years ago, while SM took off. Everyone was laughing at Alex Nostalgianomics when he was putting over P.Evolved when it first came out and was 90$/box. Now, it's 130 and everyone wants it. Money psychology is so backwards. Seriously; set for set, SV is leaps and bounds better than SWSH

I feel like the SIR’s in S&V are so undervalued and the IR’s are way overvalued.. like how are they this expensive and not even textured or shiny bordered. They don’t feel any harder to pull than trainer gallery cards and those were all a couple dollars. I wish they would’ve done textured IR’s for the cooler ones

Every set is hyped up at release, drops in value hard. Stagnates for months even up to a year then starts to gain more popularity. It’s not unique to S&V era. It’s a typical cycle for Pokemon.

Great commentary man. Paldea Evolved was the first set that got me back into Pokemon. So of course I had to master it lol I opened 7 booster boxes and now I wish I'd just kept them sealed and bought some singles lol.

Thank you! 🙏 Yeah the great tragedy of the hobby is that opening packs is almost always negative expected value vs holding the sealed product and buying cheap singles. But I guess not everything in life should be a cold financial calculation, and the simple joy of opening is worth a lot too!

I genuinely think the only low tier set out of S&V sight far is Twilight Masquerade and even still its a players dream set…. Temporal Forces is the best set so far imo, not including 151….It is inevitable that one day the market will turn and everyone will be after S&V like they were SWSH…

Just watched Danny’s most recent video and realized you’re totally right about this. In certain sets (Paldea evolved), chances of a specific IR are lower than chances of a specific SIR - hence why IRs like magikarp are so expensive. They’re actually harder to pull (and there are literally less of them printed).

Yeah true, trainer galleries are stacked! SWSH def got hot at the end, but that just makes me even more optimistic about the rest of SV block!

@@pokemahan oh for sure! S&V is just starting out but I think they tread slowly at first to get feedback and then take it up a notch. I am currently liking 151 and Paradox Rift. But those don’t compare to Lost Origin and especially Crown Zenith. Crown Zenith really ended the SWSH era with a bang!
