Gigi, your singing, growling, and body movements are so sensual and beautiful. This is the Gigi I’ve been waiting for…I knew she would break out with a true rock song that would get her recognized and this is it! She nailed this! The band was phenomenal too! They are all very talented musicians to be able to do this “live” and in the pocket. I can’t stop watching this performance. Gigi showed us all the different dynamics and styles her voice can bring to a song. She is definitely separating herself from the pack. Too many Filipina singers getting stuck singing “hugot”/ballad songs…it’s just over-crowded and now they’re all collectively known as “biriteras”. Honestly, I think that’s a disadvantage to them because it doesn’t differentiate them from one another. Obviously, of that group…Mori, Katrina, Angeline, Moira are the best and most well known at this genre, in my opinion, but everyone else is just “average”. What I like about Gigi is that even though she started off singing ballads and pop and joined that long list of “biritera” singers, she decided not to pigeonhole herself in that genre and chose to stand out by venturing into other genres that most Filipinos would not have expected her to. This was a risk that paid off because now everyone knows her versatility and her vocal dynamics along with her natural ability to capture people’s attention are her biggest strengths. The fact that she can sing every genre and give us all an amazing performance each and every time, shows she’s got what it takes to make herself known internationally. If they can come up with an original song that will stop and make the whole world listen, there’s no doubt she will capture everyone’s hearts. She has the IT factor! I’m looking forward to seeing Gigi and her band blow up! Rock on Gigi Vibes! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
