how about a fan controller with thermistor/resistor divider driving a voltage or current into a gate / base of FET or BJT transistor in the linear/active region for a simple variable speed fan controller ?

That is certainly one way to go. Nice and simple. But I'm aiming for something that will be a bit more versatile. The ability to program the response mgit prove handy.

Can you do a vid showing how to use the XR2206 tone generator and the DSO 138 oscilloscope for beginners looking to repair amplifiers using signal injection and detection? PS Why do you say "sol - der" but "alu-mee-num"? North American tend to say "sodder"? Did you study/work in the UK?

If I had an amplifier built like yours that needed repair I certainly could, but any such attempt would depend heavily on the amplifier construction, not so much the tools. I did do a series on fixing a guitar amplifier using a generator and a scope. Look in my playlists for "Trash Picked Guitar Amp" or search for videos 108, 114 and 124. Just substitute the XR2206 and the DSO138 for the generator and scope I use. As for my accent, yeah I was born in Ireland. I do say "Alu-min-ium" when I talk with members of my family, but have always said "sol-der".

I've gotten similar looking paste flux from AliExpress and wonder if it is especially unhealthy since I seem to cough up phlegm for the next few days...anyone else notice this?

I seem to get that with nay flux. The last tin I had was US made by MG Chemicals. Flux is pretty simple stuff, not sure if they can make it cheaper than it already is. We'll see...

Rosin is derived from wood. Gum rosin (oleoresin) comes from pine trees and a mixture of Pine Tree Oil along with Eucalyptus Oil and Menthol are excellent for clearing up Congestion. I was able to purchase it from my local Pharmacy about 5 years ago. It was made to be used with an electric plugin heater and the socket was beside my bed. Made my eyes water when I was using it but it really sorted out my Congestion.
