The vibe machine can be made sound more like the DejaVibe by lowering the range control. The fulltone has a boxier and quicker transition to the low and high extremes whereas the Drybell has more of that “swish” present. However, as an owner and constant tweaked of a Drybell V2, I’m not sure it can be made any less elliptical than it is here, and the “thump” is also hard to dial from a double thump at high intensity settings to a single thump. They can sound super similar tho! I’ve heard boutique pedals with both the single and double thump variations at high intensity too. The R Weaver vibe - I’ve heard it make the same double thump to the Drybell, whereas the Sabbatius Funky Vibe has a single thump at high intensity. In the end all vibes are good and we all need more of them! :)

The Fulltone wins... Listen to the sound coming out of it! There is way more bandwidth with the Fulltone.

I have the MDV-3 Dejavibe, great sounding pedal for clean sounds, it can get a bit undefined in overdrive and distortion. It is vintage style, even in modern mode. The vibe machine seems to handle dirt better and keeps the tone more consistent and playable. It seems to be a better alrounder, but with less soundstage than the Deja. Both are great..

DEJA!!! Especially considering its after the Vibe machine as well in the chain. I run my vibe right after the guitar.

The DryBell sounds "digital" and the Deja sounds "bucket brigade". It reminds me of the difference between something like a TC Flashback and a MXR Carbon Comp. I'm sure that is not actually true but I think I prefer the Deja. I do really like the DryBell v3 though. I think that's sonically a huge improvement.
@GuitarWithGabe2 жыл бұрын
Well, TBF the comparison doesn't hold up since both pedals have photocells - neither are digital. But if you're hearing something different between the two then that's the beauty of all the choices we have.

I am a huge Hendrix fan, and I like the Fulltone much better. I have had 2 DryBells, an older older one and a brand new - sold them both. DryBell is to clear, and too wobbely.

Did you mess with the side and internal knobs on the VMs? Wonder if you can make them sound closer to a DV or to the real deal.

Fulltone all the way. It sounds, well, more full 🤣🤣. Cheese aside, the DryBell is also nice. The comparison was much closer than I anticipated.

GuitarWithGabe what's your impression while playing and listening "live"? I had a big dilemma between two, ended up with Deja for no particular reason. Maybe because it's bigger? I had no opportunity to compare.
@GuitarWithGabe2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I haven't played with it live much as of yet. But I've played along with live tracks (over speakers) and jamming with friends at home and IME the Vibe Machine cuts through more - specifically set to the 'bright' setting. It also has some other settings specifically meant to help the effect in a band setting.
@jaroslawsiemienowicz12392 жыл бұрын
@@GuitarWithGabe thank you for your reply. That all sounds encouragingly. I assume they put photocells and the bulb inside... Not sure why I choose Deja Vibe. I need to reconsider my choice especially when I think about all these additional settings that could let me customise Vibe Machine to my particular setup.....

Drybell all the way. It's actually the pedal with a bigger bandwidth. The deja has a slightly boxy sound to it. The drybells elliptical setting needs to be tweaked I think, but overall it's better. I own a beautiful 68/69 original univibe that is just beast. It's my benchmark

Nice comparo. I recently bought an MDV Mk II. I think I like the Vibe machine better. Soundwise, it seems just as good, if not better and I prefer the smaller form factor and side mounted jacks to the Fulltone design. I do love Fulltone pedals in general, though.
@GuitarWithGabe2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely agree with you. Fulltone pedals are awesome, and the Deja Vibe is no exception. Personally I went with the Vibe Machine b/c it just felt right for me. It's always going to be subjective to every player and that's ok. 🤘 Plenty of pedals to go around 🤘
