Any advice on instances when transform_first messes up the contour?

Are there cases where using transform_first will not help or make it slower? I'm guessing it would be when you're using the same data to make multiple plots with different projections? Is this why the argument isn't set to True by default? Thanks for all your work on this video series! I'm finding it super helpful.

Marc - yes, different projections or if you are only saving one map. Where we get the advantage here is the fact that we are changing the viewport multiple times and don't need to re-project each time.

That ~5 seconds plotting time is still quite long if it is to be used in applications where response time is a key issue. Is it possible to cut that down even more?
