Unifi Access and Unifi Protect working together :)

In the latest Unifi access update 1.7.5 we can now pair cameras to our access hubs. Doing so records a 20 second clip which is really helpful. Also we can pair the Unifi chime so when a door bell swipe happens the chime will go off

A G4 Doorbell pro fully integrated with an UA-HUB and be able to open a door in the protect app. This is what everyone needs.

Definitely! I do have the G4 Doorbell but need to walk outside to open my gate. I have been looking for a solution to open the gate but another app sucks. Also the Access Reader G2 Pro has other severe drawbacks (no connection to the Wifi chime, no surveillance, and the back may be annoying to install on the steel of my gate. Please Unifi, integrate Protect and Access. You have created so much good stuff but this is not thought to the end! One shortcoming of the G4 Doorbell Pro is that the maximum volume of the speaker is really low. So if the doorbell is in a noisy environment, one can‘t understand you.

Really digging the assigning cameras to access control feature. It is a big selling point for Verkada so super cool to see it on the UniFi gear.

Can you show what this would look like for the UA-Hub with the G4 Doorbell / G4 Doorbell Pro? Does it allow you to ring the G4 Doorbell and an access notification populates where you see the G4 doorbell pops up with ability to unlock?

Still wish they would integrate facial recognition to the Doorbell Pro and AI camera to auto unlock a door or the Protect Lock with a specific facial match. The doorbell pro and lock was advertised as a "coming soon" feature about 2 years ago :(

This is why I think Protect and Access should be one app. Like how are they trying to release a protect lock and an access lock. The overlap is crazy, this is one topic, why the two apps??

I am very impressed with your knowledge of the Unifi products! I am trying to "clean up" my home network by switching to all unifi access points and was wondering if I could use a Cloud Key Gen 2 (already in use for G4 cameras) to run the "Network" part of my system or must I get at least a Dream Machine?

You can use the cloud key to run the network. the UDM pro just offers a firewall

Question.........if I deploy an AC Mesh Pro and give it power and wifi via a mesh setup, I can run a camera from the POE port on the Pro, right?

do you know how many magnetic locks each controller can support? Are multiple controllers an option if you have 10 doors? I can't imagine you can shove that many wires in a single one

You can not unlock doors with the doorbell ( may come in the future )

What's the difference between this and just looking at the footage from the cameras at the same as the access event? The UA pro already records video and going through the trouble of moving access to UNVR is not worth it un my opinion. Id rather have real thing like the fingerprint sensor on the doorbell pro opening doors. That would be a real update.
