patrick its hard to understand when you don't know the Theology behind it and just because some people call it a cult with their prejudiced mind you do not need to do the same. another thing is do you know that 2000 years ago Jesus and his disciples were called the cult of the Nazarene and Jesus was very sad with the doctors of the law? A bit respect won't kills no one.

They are strict christians who follow literal words of the bible. You are projecting your own BS onto them. I am not christian but these people are giving a lot of people a chance in life otherwise they wouldn't get at all from their families or their governments. Marriage is very hard and expensive and this church takes care of them.

Today days most actually choose their partner and suggest it to their parents. Others ask their parents or church leader to suggest someone, and then they accept or reject. It is not so common to just accept a partner unconditionally without knowing him/her previously. It still happens, and usually those matches have a high divorce rate. I actually think its nice to involve your parents in choosing the right person for you. It is more traditional, but also lasting and meaningful, than what most people do these days, have sex with a stranger, get pregnant and marry.

My parents joined this cult and got married this way. The couples I saw growing up literally terrified me. They could talk about love all they liked, as a child, you just know when people aren't happy and most of these couples were miserable. As an adult, I look back at the men of this cult and wonder how many of them joined because there was the promise of getting a wife. A lot of them would qualify today as "incels" and would have had a very hard time finding a partner in the "fallen" world, as they call it.

Nobody is forcing anyone to do anything, they join this life out of their free will. These are not children. Just because you had a bad experience doesn't mean it is a bad experience, you could make any counter-arguments to this with equivalencies. You are just tainted by your own perception and that leads you to lob that label at them to hate them easier. Too bad for you I guess.

I oppose this idea because you can't just marry someone without getting to know them, first. In fact, my parents had an arranged marriage in Iraq, they were never allowed to get to know each other before their wedding. My father was abusive and as a result, my mom divorced him. You will never if this stranger is really kind or cruel to you so you have to get to know them first before you decide to marry them. You can't love someone until you learn to love yourself. It is very scary to marry a stranger at first sight.

As someone who survived being born and raised most of my life in a cult, who also sometimes paired couples together, I say this, in the Bible itself it says that a man will leave his parents and find himself a wife. It doesn’t say his parents or religious leaders will find him a wife. When you search scriptures yourself you will start finding things that don’t line up with the things you were taught by your religious leaders and eventually you will be able to see pretty clearly what your church leaders are goals and motives are. It took me years to leave bc I didn’t want to loose my family or have my child hurt in any way for my decision, to my surprise the leadership crumbled and most of the church freely walked away, most keeping family and friends. I lost some of my closest friends but kept all family. I hope one day my friends will come around, I miss them dearly.

This may look like a lot of heavy scripture reading, but *PLEASE READ IT!* 👍🏿 It's for *_YOU_* ! 👈🏿 “ ²⁴ It shall come to pass That before they call, I will answer; And while they are still speaking, I will hear. ” Isaiah 65:24 NKJV “ ⁴⁹ I came to send fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! ⁵⁰ But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am till it is accomplished! ⁵¹ Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division. ⁵² For from now on five in one house will be divided: three against two, and two against three. ⁵³ Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. ” Luke 12:49‭-‬53 NKJV “ ²⁵ Now great multitudes went with Him. And He turned and said to them, ²⁶ “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. ²⁷ And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. ²⁸ For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it- ²⁹ lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, ³⁰ saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’? ³¹ Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? ³² Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace. ³³ So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple. ” Luke 14:25‭-‬33 NKJV “ ³⁴ Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. ³⁵ For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; ³⁶ and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ ³⁷ He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. ³⁸ And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. ³⁹ He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it. ” Matthew 10:34‭-‬39 NKJV “ ²⁸ Then Peter began to say to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You.” *²⁹ So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s,* *³⁰ who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time-houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions-and in the age to come, eternal life.* *³¹ But many who are first will be last, and the last first.” ”* *Mark 10:28‭-‬31 NKJV* You're *_ASSUREDLY_* on the Right Track ✅ Brother in Christ! I welcome you to this lifestyle & to REMEMBER the PROMISE that He, our REAL One & ONLY Messiah, made in *Mark 10:29-31* 👌🏿 God touch you in this journey & comfort you by The Comforter to despise the shame while dying to this vanishing world ... sans ..... @@leeham6230 however, the original text does exisit (Hebrew, Armanian, and Greek for certain book). The authors do have their original intent and they are not contradictory in core principles. This is suggesting Chinese people shouldn't read the Analects (by Confucious) since there're many historical copies. Authors in the Bible does have their original intent, just like all the philiosphers' books have their original intent and variable for discussion and reflection. Sadly young people don't like philosophy, pursuing truth and wisdom. They watch some YT videos and they think they know it all, because it "feels" right.

The reason for why some of the relationships worked, i think, is that they were really committed in becoming a partner to their other half and eventually fell in love.

I'm sorry, but this is not the way to start "the rest of your life" Two people who can't even speak the same language - and that's supposed to be the basis of a long and happy marriage? Well you talk to some of those who were married this way back in the sixties and take my word for it, they did NOT live happily ever after! Marriage is a committment and I thoroughly disapprove of arranged marriages - whatever religion you happen to subscribe to. I've been married for almost 50 years and have grown up children and growing up grandchildren, but we knew each other well before we were married, knew each other's families and also knew each other's foibles! And take my word for it, it hasn't been laughter all the way, but at least both of us knew where the other was coming from!
@p.r.9982
@p.r.9982 5 жыл бұрын
I know the story of a couple, they didn't speak the same language and when they argued they didn't hurt each other. The wife learned the husband's language eventually. It worked out for them, but they are an exception. I support arranged marriages but not like the moonies do (meeting the spouse less than a week before the wedding). People can agree to marry each other after about 6 months if the families are compatible, even if they are not in love. Compatibility is more important than our idea of love, in a relationship. That's the oldest form of marriage. I'm against forced marriages though.

amiesparkle00 yeah that’s kinda what they did, they usually matched people of different race/ethnicities to “break barriers and prejudices of society”. So their thought process is like if two people from countries that are known as enemies get married then their kids will love and grow with both cultures & that if you are married to someone who is completely different from you then they will help you grow as a person? Idk, it’s weird and confusing. Also they don’t believe in divorce, so if they were to stay in that cult they’re stuck basically.

He had suffered at young age but used that hunger to gain power and control for wealth and used innocent ppl . this is one family's business and that's it. To the followers you can marry and create happy healthy family without a con man. I understand it might didnt brought any harm to you now but think about how this family works behind you, with your support, doing what kind of stuffs. hiding under name of so called church , peace, non profit organization. THIS IS 100% PROFIT POWER SEEKING CON ARTIST. And I know some people can't just leave because they been there too long , everything they know was around the church that fearing of new start. Some are too old to chance their mind and start looking for new job. once you given your life and precious time it becomes more hard to quit. Every cult wants to remove people from the people who love them. The first indication you are in a relationship with someone who does NOT love you, is that they don't care about those who have cared about you. If you really love a person, you don't want to deprive them of the people who love them, whether just a mother or father in-law or a group.

@@thetiredworm2100 If people go with free-will, they have that right. Jesus is clear we are to look after our family responsibilities (provide for them, for to not do is is worse than being an unbeliever 1 Timothy 5:8 ). One of the last things He did was tell his mother her son was now a disciple, so she would be looked after, but yes, He said He didn't come to unite people, but to divide them. For me, the difference is, He doesn't want our money, or sexual access to our children and spouses, He doesn't want to control us. He wants to share the gift of life with us, he doesn't NEED us, but mortal cult leaders need people to get their desires, usually sex and cash - probably ALWAYS sex and cash.

But yes every Sunday there is service, in some regions(in the U.S) there is a program called up and coming that high schoolers and middle schoolers go to, its basically a place for kids to play games and get lectures. In the church their is a HUGE purity culture and they basically teach you about the blessing(the event thats in this video) since you’re like a baby. my parents have been talking to me about this as far as i remember. There is also this program that promotes purity culture to kids in 9th/10th grade where they pledge to save themselves and get purity rings.

I heard about this guy when I was 15 and this still surprises me what if ur not attracted to the person or if they are way older than u are essentially putting ur faith in someone else's hands smh

Similar to arranged marriage only its a mass wedding. Do they check whether the horoscopes match as well?

I’m a unification church member and I’ll be attending this ceremony next February. It’s still crazy to see there’s a couple that was “matched” just a few days ago. I just don’t understand how she can merry a guy she can’t even remember his name. The Japanese husband of her just does not speak even a little bit of French nor English. How will they communicate and be committed to their marriage. Trust me, even my Japanese mom whose English was way better than his before she met her Australian husband, has had struggled with cultural differences and all of that, it will be a lot harder for them. At least every couple should share a language to speak to each other for themselves and their future kids. I wish best luck for that couple.

I gotta say, I'm too selfish to share my wedding day. In a tiny way it reminds me of FLDS and it reminds me of Handmaids tell when the soldiers married their wives. Didn't know each other at all, but the got married that day. I need to know who I'm marrying. I need to know their bad habits and they need to know mine. I do have to say it is cool that they are paring different cultures; I would not join just for that experience, but you know it's different. I welcome the extra 40 days!

wow. just wow. Think of the abuse that so many individuals are opening themselves up to by not getting to know who they are marrying and the believing that they are locked in for 'eternity' with that person. It is so incredibly sad.
