I think old pension scheme is better because government employee,who is not permitted to work any other profession during his service might find himself in retirement burdened by bills because his/her only source of income is gone in NPS. Yaa UPS too is a good approach because it combines both good aspects of ops and nps 😊

In my opinion, the central govt. brought the UPS to counter the opposition's propaganda and also it seems a much better option for all the employees since India's robust growth needs huge capital expenditure so it became a huge burden over the govt. to bear 100% of the pension. This initiative will not only reduce the burden from the govt. but also help govt. save the money to invest in other sectors of the economy. From employee's perspective OPS was obviously better but they need to understand that govt. can't bear such huge costs in todays world and must come forward to opt for UPS

I feel like UPS is a good option because it counters problems from both NPS and ops and is a good combine option it will not only help government to boost economy by investing money in other sectors as while keeping the people assured that they will get pension indexed with inflation

I think it's a fair argument that OPS is too much of a burden on the govt and investing this pension money in share market is a good idea

30:34 I think that government should continue the OPS for services which are dangerous or a bit risky for example the Army Navy and Airforce all the other services which includes the risk to death. And also because of this the Indian security will take a boost as people will try to come into the job of army Navy or airforce and through this we can achieve the world's powerful army or the security. Except these jobs which are risk to death the government can uphold the UPS for the other government jobs. And I think that no one will also (may be) raise the questions (general government employee)on the old pension scheme for the security staff

Yup,almost a good view , pension hina hi nhi chahiye jyada tar govt. Employment me....itna jyada sab govt job ki taraf bheed laga rakhe ha aise hi...jitna jada facility dnge log utna jaynge us taraf....govt ko entrepreneurship and employment creators ko dena chahiye pension kuch scheme bana ke like.... according to their profit which they produce every year and kuch particular timespan bond kr dena chahiye....and many more ways other also....govt job me bekaar ha pension

In my opinion , UPS is better then OPS and NPS ...as this will reduce the economic burden on the govt. And the govt employees will have assured income along with their contribution in it which will make them accountable to their job . Amazing session sir ✨😇

In my opinion , Both NPS and UPS schemes are comparable as ups scheme facilitate more balanced view but due to increment of government share in pension the financial burden can also increase as currently , in our budget 11.3 % of money spend on pension only . This led to increment of loans also , so increment of government equity is not recommended whereas nps is a good scheme but the only think i believed that a change like connect it to inflation can tackle issues . I believed that government done this change to curb the movement of people against government because currently opposition is strong and there is a coalition government at center can led to unstable government and can lose the majority .

considering the economy rn, ups is the best solution the government could've come up with, not burdening the economy and the employee, it becomes a win win situation

Sir I think unified scheme is good and advantages & disadvantages will be known after application of scheme .. And my opinion is that if government is doing something which is better for development of country we should support our government..

In my opinion, UPS is the need of the hour, a more refined and reformed mode of giving pension. OPS at those times was (post independent era) healthy because at that time people didn't wanted to join Government services as a result we saw people with just intermediate sitting on elite posts of central and state PSCs but today the scenario has changed. NPS was a bold step to change the trend and create a path for reforms but it was somewhat arbitrary. As per today's needs UPS is the most wise step because pension doesn't means to forget your responsibility to save for the future and your kids, it is an important helping hand which can benefit a lot. Also today, one has N number of opportunities to save for the worst expected, and shifting the whole burden on government isn't a wise step. Also as per data, pensions under OPS accounted for around 16-20% of the country's GDP, which means about a quarter of our GDP was under the burden which resulted in reduced fund allocation to Health, Education and also other crucial departments.

Hello hamare paise jo contribution mai jama ho raha hai or government jo contribute kar raha hai final settlement mai kya karne wala hai ky awo hame milega ya nahi agar wo sirf 6 months ka average kya karenge ??? Or ham jo investment ka kya matalab hai or intrest jo goverment use kar rahi hai kya hua sab???

I think the ops was good in its time, but now it is of no significance for the Indian government as India is growing and life expectancy is also growing hence the number of people getting the pension is increasing so a major portion of the budget will go towards the pensions of the employees which would have gone towards the betterment of the society or the defence part

govt should invest the lump sum amount in share market if profitable give employees 5% of it if loss govt should pay the loss i.e only the lump sum amount . this will eventually help in reducing the govt burden

Sir as I think ups will better than ops because it's all matter of economic situation of India 🇮🇳when ops applied it's a burden. So as a hybred solution UPS will better. and one more thing that the contributed amount will save and returned to employee so it's stay bless . Or in anything some ebony and ivory are present , it's all matter that which one much better for both govt. and people.

Govt employee vese he to baithe baithe khate rehte todha agr khud ki pension me contribute krde usme bhi dikkat hai kisi or ki pension me to Krna ni hai contribute sab kuch sarkar he kregi kya or baki jgh Paisa kharch ni Krna kya

Sir in my opinion ups is better than ops and nps because with the continuous rise in population this will make the hurdle for the govt. And will affect the country's economic growth.. under ups the discrepancies of nps and ops will be covered and it may provide assurance to both employees as well as it will not become Laguna in the country 's growth if implementation is done properly

I feel UPS is better than NPS although looking at state of economy and need for development in infrastucture, healthcare, technology etc. NPS was facilitating needs of remaning population of country Bringing back OPS will be really bad for economy as salary is given to you for the work u did for govt , pension is an extra benefit for the work u did but relying on the fact that all your pension will be paid by govt even if you have tremendous amt of salary (through 7th pay ) is foolish OPS was better for people who had govt job but their salaries were meagre and were only sufficient for subsistence but not for saving , today we see govt employees having much more salaries as they can comfortably save for their retirement In my opinion UPS is better as it reduces the burden on both govt and employees

OPS mein Earned Leave maximum 10 months ie 600 days hota hai... Last month salary drawn x No. Of Earned leave ( but not exceding 10 months)

In my pov ops was really burden for the gov to bear , already our country has no sufficient ammount for other sectors and here PPL are asking to give 100% of the pension from government (for doing nothing ).

the basic problem will still be same , that is whether any system come into play people are still left out from their rights, best ex, authorities are not ready to make my non-crealy layer certificate despite i am eligible. they are saying us fill a case what's use when my date of exam will be gone. everything will be useless unless it is implemented properly , I mean properly !

Think clearly. 1/10 th means 10%. So, out of the employee and government contribution, only 10% will go to lump sum account and the rest 90% will go where? Government will give us pension from that 90%. So, in the end all is same. We stand to gain more from NPS now as compared to Uninterrupted Power Supply.

it only makes sense for the govt to remove the OPS because indeed, they can not maintain this anymore, NPS would have worked if only it wasnt for the uncertainity for the final ammount, but I think UPS is a good enough scheme which would be beneficial. However, I think govt should be able to take 5% of that pension money because in the years of service, the employees didnt work for free, they were already given their due wheras govt got their services, so I dont understand why the whole ammount should be received by the employee. Ofc, being a socialist state, govt should contribute in the employees salary but still taking 5% of the amount and spending it for the empowerment of poorer people, shouldnt be a bad idea.
