Pre order is in! $229 pre-order. Seems like same pricing as the Titan Pocket! But, know what you are getting. Plus, I hope the case is included in the box but I don't see it listed!!!!
@WaffleusRex2 жыл бұрын
It now says the case is the $400k stretch goal.

They'll put it in every package because the stretch goal was reached so that's pretty good, especially considering the price of the og titan case.

I have had my Key 2 for 4 years and my space bar has never felt like it was going to " fall off" lol This thing you are showcasing is a brick. Somehow, someway Blackberry will rise again .
@StevealiciousTech2 жыл бұрын
You got lucky. Someone else just commented theirs failed. Was about a 50% failure rate for the first bit. The later ones they fixed it and the Key2 LE was fixed.
@micky147blue2 жыл бұрын
I'm one of the unfortunate ones that the space bar just seemed very flimsy, sometimes had to double press it for it to work then the fingerprint eventually stopped working, hoping the slim doesn't have this issue, you must have got a good one.
@mickeygolf2342 жыл бұрын
You are so correct about the Key2 space bar, mine failed and my solution was to enable the virtual keyboard and now I type with the physical keys and tap the virtual space bar. I find it works well now that my brain is trained to tap up to space. Could be difficult to retrain myself with a new device. LOL
@StevealiciousTech2 жыл бұрын
Lol that must be rough and yeah, the spacebar was a major issue...hated it!

Great video again buddy. You and Adam do great work especially with your hearts still being in the BlackBerry camp. I'm still on a BlackBerry Key2 LE and I was wondering if you think the LE is better than the original Titan? I still wait for a phone similar to an updated Passport..Thoughts?
@StevealiciousTech2 жыл бұрын
Ooof, we might be waiting a bit for something like that!

I appreciate the honesty in your take. I think, perhaps, the PKB and it's tactile experience is probably the most important aspect for those considering the device. This now being UniHertz 3rd PKB offering is it improved? Has the feel and typing experience improved? I never really saw many complaints about performance of the Pocket Titan with the P70. Has it degraded in this form factor or is it just in comparison to $1000+ plus phones like the S22 Ultra? I wish they would have sourced a Demensity 700 5G but that wouldn't offset your concerns on the form factor or feel. What is your take and experience on the similarities or differences in feel of the PKB of the Pocket and Slim? Do you think the production version and software experience can improve? Seems like most reviewers, so far, have most concerns with build quality vs prior offerings. UniHertz is in a catch 22. Some complained about Pocket screen size and rugged build. UniHertz offers this with the same software experience and it's pretty universally disfavored.

I think the extra bit of width makes the keyboard easier to use. Still looks small though saying that i loved the keyboard on the palm pre and had no problem using it. Hopefully they sell well and enable them to build on this and improve in future. I would love to see a phone where the keyboard is retractable like the palm pre.

Absolutely! I was really looking forward to that Onward Mobility Priv 2 like device! And width is key...some of us have big hands!

Something that I will look into in the future is making my own bb q10 keyboard plug in for another device. The keyboard has it's pin outs posted and there are projects including that keyboard online. It will just need a simple enclosure and USBC connector and bam I have an option to make an 8in tall smartphone with a keyboard 😅. I don't know if unihertz is going to release another device with a premium enclosure and 5g so I will stay away from these devices for now as 4g LTE coverage doesn't cover my workplace reliably.
@My_Alchemical_Romance11 ай бұрын
Your tabletop reviews are so reminiscent of NUTNFANCY; take that as a compliment. Been a fan of his of many years; and you are holding down the porch on the tech stuff. Keep the unihertz stuff coming; you missed the boat on this video as well as the comparison to the pocket video; in regards that one of them is able to expand its memory via SD; and one is NOT. That is a deciding factor for me; I do believe that whichever one that can NOT expand its memory; makes up for it by having a better camera ( I think; I could be wrong on that), but it does make up for it. Would love to hear you rant about this topic as far as these hard choices we have to make when deciding between the two\. Appreciate your channel and coverage of the keyboard warriors fetishist content!😊

I almost preordered! But then I saw it won't even ship out till September. Which made me remember I did the same thing last year with the Pocket. And by the time I had received it, I had completely moved on with the rest of my life. 😂 I mean it seriously took almost 5 months to arrive. That's insane.

You need to think a bit more out of the box. You can get razer grips which are made for gaming mice but will stick to most phones also. They are low profile and add grippiness. The last thing we need to do is make this beast even bigger by adding a cheap case to it.

That's the crux I think, PKB phones are just fun and I love Unihertz for making weird phones. Hard to make this my daily driver even though I'm sure it will perform alright for just daily tasks. It was a good price on the early bird for something you can just play around with.

@@StevealiciousTech In hindsight I've been lucky. My Passport stopped working in 2019 after I installed a couple of Android apps (e.g. Skype) and I had to buy a KEY2LE. I really did not like it because it did not feel like a BB and the KB is poor (not tactile) so I worked hard to bring back my Passport from the dead, which I managed to do - and no it did not involve necromancy or human sacrifices :-) So now I have 2 phones and here in the UK the Passport still work perfectly.

@@StevealiciousTech I don't know, it might be a good sign. I think people are craving physical keyboards again. When I got my Key2, it was pretty cheap where it was about $180. Then all of a sudden the price exploded. So I am thinking it might be a new old trend.
