This video by CAMPT-Certified Physiotherapist Dan Bosy describes the etiology of unilateral lower back pain from trauma to the pelvis. It describes the location and radiation pattern of a sacro-iliac joint dysfunction as well as the typical signs and symptoms. Mechanisms of injury are discussed such as a fall onto the affected side or an automobile accident where the side of symptoms are usually on the side of the seatbelt buckle. A manual therapy technique using wedges is demonstrated as part of the treatment. Types of exercises are discussed at the conclusion of the video that would be used to help someone return to their regular activities.
