I find those who are like “this is weird” and backhandedly insulting these things didn’t take august seriously when she said she’s invested in spirituality and such and wanted to make videos around those things? Just because you don’t believe them doesn’t mean you can’t be respectful. Sometimes these things can help while also doing traditional things with therapy. The main lesson within these things, is literally just more higher form of therapy ”trust yourself”, sometimes that will be relating to thinks like using color to help bring healing where more subtle therapy can’t. And even then? It’s still cool to see how people can interpret emotions and healing differently and in different ways.

If you don't have to put out any money for these sessions, aren't forced to participate in them or forced to watch the sessions, then making insensitive comments about the content really shows your lack of humanity. August is an adult & if she desires to try alternative treatments for healing, it's her prerogative to do so. She isn't forcing this on anyone. Have you tried EMDR for complex trauma? It isn't something you would film for your channel, but it has been very beneficial for me in processing trauma. The only way out is through, unfortunately. Glad you are finding things that can help, it's a life long journey.

according to certain beliefs, colors have a certain symbolism attached to them, and crystals are believed to have healing properties which I assume the practioner tries to channel in order to help her clients. I guess you can see it as placebo if you don't believe in it :)

Well, cranial nerve exams are realistic! Maybe they’re not performed accurately in asmr videos, but there is some truth to it. Just as there is some truth to any kind of healing experience, wether or not you align with the beliefs behind it. Many people find ways of dealing with their emotions and distress through spirituality
