"A great grey ocean, in which everything merges into everything else" is a weirdly accurate description.

You have to learn to pick out the good stuff for yourself! Or from your teachers, or from your parents.

Harold Bloom was a one of a kind. He found his calling and his obsession so early on in life and he let it possess him for the good. A true artist so sad and beautiful. He is an inspiration to me to read more classic literature and to open my mind to new ideas.

This man had such keen foresight into the fleeting study of profound humanistic literature in the universities and it's replacement with politically correct literature. He also foresaw like many others the dangers of the internet that lie ahead.

Hi! I was wondering if you could tell me the title of a video that was removed from your channel. It was this Asian American (Japanese I believe) woman who went to college in the 1950s. She was giving a book talk. One of my favorite videos and I’ve been trying to find it

I agree with him that it’s not good that kids are not learning literature anymore, but I have to disagree with him when he scorns Batman comics.

It's to keep the ASMR effect intact for people who are listening for that. Which is the point of this channel. 👍

No, not old school socialism. In Britain, at least, old socialists are patriotic and tend to be socially conservative; and theyre working class. But new fangled metropolitan socialists are middle class, concerned politically correct endeavours.

@@scallamander4899 Britain had a different type of socialism, they broke with the USSR after their invasion of Hungary. Yes , there were internationalists, I thin what he mean to say that old school socialists were against globalism, which is now what they support. They were more patriotic long time ago , in that they wanted jobs for their own countries' workers, but that didnt stop them from supporting labour movements internationally
