The film, Uninterrupted Seeing, by filmmaker Todd Weinstein, about Harold Feinstein. Used by permission.
A film about Harold Feinstein, whose photography career spans over 50 years, and who is known for both mastering black and white documentary style work and digital technology as an artistic medium. Renowned photography critic and historian A. D. Coleman has said of his early work, "Here is New York small-camera photography at its best: humanistic, intimate, engaged, almost intrusive." He went on to call Feinstein "a true photographer's photographer."
In early 2000, Feinstein began to work in digital technology, resulting in seven color books published by Little, Brown, & Company. The celebrated One Hundred Flowers (2000) is now in its third printing. His trend-setting in the arena of digital photography earned him the Smithsonian Institute's Computerworld Smithsonian Award in 2000.

Harold emphatically told me don't crop your photo in the darkroom, crop with your eyes, train your eye to crop when you shoot the photo. Also, never pass up the sudden urge to stop and take the photo right then, if you don't you'll regret it.

Ideally you crop with the camera but cropping is cropping, whether it's in the camera, darkroom or computer. The final result is what counts.

I've heard a podcast about him today and searched for the documentary. I love his work and feel his good heart. True inspiration.

Can't believe I'm seeing this comment so many months later! I apologize! The book sold out within the first year and the publisher didn't reprint. A real pity! So what's on Amazon has nothing to do with us. I guess it's what the market can bear. Hoping for a new book soon!
