Outstanding video! Thank You for sharing this! Like I said before, it doesn't matter where Big Boy is-America just can't get enough of him! A proud, proud symbol of determination, love and back-breaking true grit to see touring our nation. I saw him for the second time this year (first time in 2019). There are simply no words to describe how I felt-just tears of gratitude on my face. 😊💯❤️❤️🚂🚂❗

LOL, the couple @2:55 so eager to get to the next place they think they will see it, like many in this vid, spent so little time enjoying the experience of it where they were at that moment. All they will remember of it is the pic or two they hurredly snapped before running off. Not the sight, sounds, smells of the train or the smiles of the other people around who actually DID enjoy the experience.

When I was young and living in the country, my parents house was 1/4 mile from a single track. You get used to it. ALSO been up the St. Louis Arch 3 times in my life and have my souvenir ticket to prove it. Don't go up if you hate tight spaces. Their little egg shaped pods are bearly enough room for 3 people to sit and it jerks at the curves before you get to the top. The view is just breath taking from the top!!

Hey, that was my childhood back in Tx. I had 3 railroad lines running beside my house. The closest being Union Pacific, then Burlington North/Santa Fe running on the middle rails and Amtrak on the furthest rails. I saw 3985 in my backyard. I traveled back from Ohio to see 4014 near the old place. 844 was present in Oct 2012

It still seems weird to see a locomotive on a main line operating without ditch lights. I understand that under the law, the Big Boy is considered historical railroad equipment as it pre-dates 1949, but the historical significance means nothing if it's bearing down on you and it isn't as visible as it could be. You'd think that with the modern equipment required to operate it on a main line, ditch lights would be part of the package.
@TehBellcarl3 жыл бұрын
In Canada it is! As to your point there’s really no reason for it. Big boy isn’t moving at the high speeds most modern freight trains are. Not to mention the literal team of employees that help make this one of the safest operations in the country.
