Amazing this video is amazing! How the heck all those cars stay on the track and don't derail is crazy. Especially around the curves and turns. Even with empty flat cars in the middle. I was waiting for something to pull sideways in a tight turn. Beautiful and those turbine engines are the skookumest engines.

I'm glad they kept the rollby era specific. Some videos I've seen on other layouts mix 60's era trains with BNSF boxcars and Norfolk Southern stuff of modern era. This layout is one of the most beautiful I've seen.

That layout is awe-inspiring. The rivers look quite realistic.

Thank you for showing the consist. In particular, mixed manifest like this one are fascinating. Especially when they’re weathered. Same with passenger trains

I’m so very impressed......the layout, the rolling stock and of course the locomotives are all nothing short of outstanding 👍

Good stuff! The weathering effect was well done on the period rolling stock. Years ago when I was into the hobby, we could only dream of a pull of this magnitude. The attention to detail was a pleasure to view. The sound effects of that turbine were spot on.

Bill, you nailed it this time. Thank you for showing more of the entire consist... The camera is steady and the varying angles are so "pro". I love the 9:00 pullback. Brilliant direction. The train was even run at a slow enough pace to allow me to study all the details of a scene. Great job!

I've been an HO modeler since 1960. I've had 9 layouts over the years, and I think this is the finest layout I've ever seen. The scenery is the best depiction of a mountainous area, and the colors used are uncannily right on the spot. Someone had a very sharp eye and well developed skills in doing the scenery. The track-work is very smooth flowing and most realistic. The only improvement I could foresee would be superelevation of the track curves. I had a very large layout with broad curves with 1.5 degree superelevation, and the effect is most pleasing. This layout represents the Gold Standard of model railroading.

Thank you for the wonderful comment. For anyone who would like to know more about how the scenery was done, The museum gift shop has a series of DVDs by the Designer - Builder of layout, Dave Trussell. There are also three short KZbin promo videos about the DVDs. This layout epitomizes why we tell our spouses "model RRs are completely different from 'toy trains' ".

I never made comment about the complete roll by shot, but i like it, and think its a great idea. One of the best things about huge layouts are the long trains.

Bill, the overall video is very enjoyable, but the 3:43 roll by is an outstanding POV. The roll by is fantastic footage. The weathering of the entire consist is hard-core realistic. Great jobs by all the volunteers and members at CMRM.

A most excellent video!! Showed a lot more scenic areas than I ever saw before. Love the overhead "drone" sort of shots down in the water level areas! Also one of my FAVORITE locos too! The Big Blows!

Not really a town there. The place is called Weyerhaeuser Reload No. 2. You can see a tour of the entire railroad along with a map showing place names at kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5S4fX9thsh4qLM .

Hey Bill! Great video! In this 101 car train, do the cars have the recommended NMRA weight in them or has more weight been added to each car? Happy Thanksgiving!! - Brian

Thanks Brian. I don't know for sure, as it's not my train, but I'm guessing the cars are properly weighted to NMRA standards.

wouldn't if be a little more accurate to have mid and/or end train helpers, instead of all the power on the point? That much power could tear the coupler of the leading car out...
