This was one of those unexpected moments as I was just about to get off I-94 in Tomah, WI and saw an incoming train on the UP Winona sub. Back when it was owned by the Chicago and Northwestern the line used to run all the way to Winona, MN but was abandoned west of Tunnel City, WI outside of the yard area in Winona, MN. Any traffic that uses this line uses the far busier CPKC on trackage rights from Winona to Tunnel City. I ended up traveling just East of Tomah to get the train which happened to be LTA42 probably. They would set out two cars at Allied Cooperative before continuing towards Adams, WI. A nice SD62/GP60 pair led the way on the jointed rail line. More action from the nearby CPKC Tomah sub along with plenty in Minnesota in the week to come. Enjoy and don't forget to comment and subscribe!!!
