⚠Hanging down in a hangar would clump up all the down feathers at the base of their individual pockets I would recommend laying it flat on a drying rack in a well ventilated space

I'm not very good at hand washing - it’s painful on my joints. I usually wash down jackets in the washing machine on a gentle cycle with cold water and wool detergent, turning the jacket inside out. After that, I put it in the dryer on a no-heat setting for a few hours with two tennis balls. I do the same with down pillows, and the jackets often look like new. However, I'm hesitant to wash my Uniqlo jacket the same way since the instructions say not to do any of that. Should I wash it as I usually do, or are Uniqlo garments made differently that could cause damage?

Thank you. My jackets have flattened like pancakes…how do you refluff these jackets? I’ve only had them since 2020 :-/

Rub them to regain it's loft.

When you dry it, do so in low heat. It will take hours to dry but once it's fully dry, it will be nice and fluffy.

@@irmasanchez5274 Do you mean in the Tumble Dryer?
@irmasanchez52742 жыл бұрын
@@surreyya1182 I live in an apartment building. I just set the dryer to the low dry setting. There's usually an option for a high and a low. For my down coat I only use the low setting. It works beautifully. Again, just make sure it's completely dry. My coat takes approximately two hours to completely dry.

Lowest setting on a tumble dryer with a towel and two tennis balls brings down jackets back to new for fluffiness!

Would be great if Uniqlo offered a washing service 🧺

Yeah me too. Any tips? The smell is horrible 😞 I’m afraid people will think that I haven’t showered for several days when i’m wearing it.

If it smells, that means it isn't clean.

Worst thing i did before my hike. I machine washed an 800 series puffer. I can smell the rotten scent of whatever is inside the puffer. I think it comes from the silk/feather inside.

I put mine in the washer machine and now the feathers are clumped together what can I do now Help Please

you need a dryer with three balls on a delicate low heat cycle
@davidhernandez8785 Жыл бұрын
1. WASHING MACHINE UNDER 30º. 2. DRYER WITH THE DELICATE PROGRAM. IT COMES OUT PERFECT. You don’t buy a jacket to spend hours washing it manually.

I've already ruined 2 vests by washing them on the hand wash cycle of my machine. This is way too much work for any item of clothing. I have a couple of down vests and jackets by other manufacturers. and they turn out beautifully after being washed and dried by machine. I think I'll stick to those.

This is only one jacket. What if you wash 10 jackets? Wasting time? Absolutely yes.

Pretty bad afvice the real advice wash per the manufacturers instructiins with a specif down cleaner/wash then rinse at low speed until all residue has been removed and next stage is to reproof the jacket with a dowmpn proof such as sold,by nixwax or grangers. Younthen tumble dry at a very low heat and and at least 2 but better 3 tennis balls or cotton drying balls or similarfor about 30 min to 40 min carefully remove jacket feel for any clumps and gently ease them apart repeat thismstep for at least 3, 4 or more times till jacket is fully dry. Your jacket shoudl if done correctly be almsot as fluffy as when new and have a water repelant coating. Last when you remove the jacket frommthe washing machine and it is wet domso carefully as the outer material on many top end outdoor walking down jacktes is ecetremely thinand a heavy wet jacket could put undue strain on seems or even burst some. It is not a hard process but it is time consuming as foing it right can take 2-3 hours of drying. But well worth it with a down jacket that could easily be well over 250 new maybe even over 400 new. Last point dont use a top loader with a centre spindle it can be to violent and tear stitching or even material.
