Thats a cool choke but what I took the most from this video is how he enters into the williams guard and holds it. Alot of good details like using the overhook before you wrap the leg and pushing down on the shoulder.

It's funny I saw this and actually older videos years ago with Neil teaching this ..and I just wanted the choke details of course. But now I can understand the setup is as important and even more important than the choke as the Shoulder Pin (Williams Guard) is more important and it can go off into loads of other attacks. So what I mean is the details about the getting to the shoulder pin (overhook, get hips off line) are very important

Accidentally put a guy out with this about 5 years ago. He was a tenacious bastard and kept peeling my left hand off so I turned it into a hammerfist and jammed it against his carotid and sinched down with the left leg. The next thing I know his eyes rolled backwards and he was drooling all over me.

Are there any fights where this was used for submission? I really wanna see it in action.

Curious if you could figure four the legs at the end as a choke as well?right leg across back of neck left leg locks it.

Yeah that's the more common finish - triangle choke when the opponent pushes his head towards you to square up, or you can omoplata if they try to pull their head away from you.

I couldn't concentrate once I realized hes missing his 2nd toe on the left foot. Now I need to scour the internet to find out how that happened... God damnit curiosity, i just wanted to come here and learn a move, now the next 2 hours will be consumed with finding the answer to this missing toe. Great lesson though 👍 looks highly effective.

@@model84 no, it was because of a fracture that occurred during training. He ignored it during a camp resulting in a shattered bone that would take 1 year off the mats just to recover a toe,. He then decides it was best to cut it off rather than spend 1 year without training.

Bernardo is an awesome guy who is uniquely positive (which we all love) but if you found this solidly technical instruction video unpalatable to a point where you felt it necessary to negatively comment, you should probably quit martial arts.

Wtf, I don't see anything unlikeable about Neil, that's gotta be some deep seeded issue within yourself. He's a big dude, and some what scary looking, but his personality reminds me of a scared puppy. He doesn't appear very confident with his closed off body language, avoiding eye contact and looking at the camera (which is kind of funny for a man with that physique who shouldn't seem to fear anyone. But then maybe the problem is that people tend to be scared of him and therefor misjudge him). But as soon as he get's to the technique part you can instantly feel his love for the art. All of a sudden he is more open and knows what to do with himself. Bernardo is easily likeable because he's straight out of a kids show. Outroverted and overly enthusiastic about everything.

@@XxTheMetalistxX not quite sure what @cypresspuz saw to feel this way, but the guy is a far as i know a cool dude. what may be contributing to his hardly noticeable awkward 'navigation' sometime could be the fact that he is one eye blind and one ear deaf kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIe5aouAa9-FgNk
