When I encounter that, I play it out of turn. The forward ball (Zalatoris) hits first as the aftermath of his stroke will not typically change the lie of the rear ball. I'm usually playing for five or ten bucks though.

One time I hit a shot over a water hazard to a green it landed short of the green and right next to a resting seagull. The gull picked up the ball in it's beak and dumped it in the water! I'm still waiting for a ruling on that years later. On a side note fried gull wings aren't too bad with a ranch dressing.

Essentially the same except one of the balls would be marked before the other ball was played. After the first shot is played, same situation as here - bunker raked and the original lie restored so the 2nd ball can be replaced. Nothing complicated - just a bit of common sense.

@@craigmonty I was in a group in a competition where that happened. First player had a fried egg lie, second player's ball rolled on top of the first. Second player removed their ball while the first player played. Raked and replaced for the second player.
