This weeks list is unique baby names taken from nature - they are 'wild nature' themed so a bit more edgy than normal nature name lists. I love them; what do you think? Add your ideas for this name list below and request a list for next week :-)
I've got lots of bonus name lists coming up so do hit the bell so you don't miss collaborating on the name lists with me!
LOTS OF LOVE - Stay Safe and I hope these videos keep up a bit of normality and fun during this tough time, SJ xxx

I know it's not baby names... but I'd love to see you do a list of names to call grandparents, because if you have split families it is hard for each grandparent to have a nickname of their own!!!

@@carolineb8932 it's something I'm incredibly aware of from my job, kids can be cruel and target things you'd never expect. My cousin has a newborn and actual adults have made fun of the name so I can't imagine what it's going to be like for her at school, her sister has a 6 year old that calls the baby trundle because they double barrelled the surname and it sounds like 'cart-along' 🙄

Love the list! It’s given me food for thought. I’d love to see a list of names that work in both English and French! My husband and I are from different parts of Canada. I’m from the French side, and he’s from the English side. For our first baby, we struggled for months to find a name that would be easily pronounced in both languages, that we both liked, and that was unique. I’m already starting to build a list for an eventual second baby, and it’s quite a challenge! Love your channel. xox

Ottilie or the variations on the spelling is so cool! It means wealthy or fortunate. I live in a part of Australia that was settled by German migrants and about 50% of the old 100-200 year head stones are all Ottilie. Hopefully it's not too morbid but cemeteries are excellent places for interesting old fashioned names that need a revival.

So glad to see Enya on this list! Considering that for a middle name for my upcoming March baby. Some other names I think would fit in this list: Hawthorne, Bramble (nn Bram), Juniper, Maple, Delta (the mouth of a river)

I just realised this video is from 2 years ago. So many of these names have become popular in the past year. So I've had Moss/Mossy on my list for years, however it is quite a popular nn for Morris where I live amongst men 50+ and when I mentioned it on a baby name group nobody seemed to like it. Tempest is another name I've had on my list since I was a teenager. Love it.

Thanks for adding Valley to my baby list! It's beautiful and matches the theme I would love to have if I had girls. Me my Mum (Valerie) and my Sister (Viola) all start with V so I'd love to keep that for my baby😍 Valley is also the name of a band I love with a lot of emotional attachment, so it's perfect PS: Never heard Kestrel as a name for a person but it's really cool

My fathers last name is Keelean, pronounced key-len and I have considered this as a first name for either a boy or a girl. It feels very versatile. It stems from Ireland and based on our family tree was originally spelled Keelan. So it would have a bit of heritage in it if we ever decided on that route.

We just had a baby boy. His name is Alfred Louis, nickname Alfie. :) I realize it's a pretty common name in the UK. We live in Austria and Alfred is not used at all. I think there were only a couple of Alfreds born in the last few decades, so it's pretty rare (which was very important to us). Alfie is not used at all as a name as well; I think it's not even ranked. Louis has gained in popularity in the last few years and is in the Top 20 - however, we used it to honor my husband's late uncle who's name was Alois. I've been following you for quite a while now and got the name Alfie from your videos and fell in love with it. :)

I love the name Rhode, so without the s at the end. This is also the name of the oldest of the Oceanids from Greek mythology. Actually most names that I love are from one of the Oceanids, like Acaste, Calypso, Dione, Electra, Melia, Merope, Styx, Xanthe and many more! Really recommend looking up the list of names of the Oceanids!

Loves all these names! My best friends little boy is about a year and half old, she named him Oxly Wilder, nicknamed him Ox. She loved the idea of him being able to grow into the name Ox once he hits his young adult years. Had never heard either names until she had him. Was instantly in love with both names.

Ooh I love the name Hemlock! The name itself looks and sounds gorgeous and the plant is beautiful in a subtle way. Also, I love that hemlock the plant, while dangerous, can be used to make medicines. That duality of danger and healing makes for such an interesting name meaning!

I live in an area with a huge native American population (Navajo specifically) and I think they have some great names! Talon, Nizhoni (pronounced ni-sho-nee/means beautiful), and Shandiin ("shan-deen" which means sunshine) are some of my favorites! They're also pretty popular here but I doubt anyone outside of the southwest U.S. has heard them.

Happy New Year! I feel like names like Briar go super well with very very girly names, just the edge and then a super feminine one right after, haha! I am just thinking of good examples, but I mean stuff like Briar Juliette or Briar Persephone/Penelope, I'm sure there are better ones, I mean Briar Rose fits into that category as well. Also absolutely LOVE the name Hunter lately. :)

When you mentioned Hemlock and the poisonous qualities of the plant it made me think of the name Rue (pronounced 'roo'). Rue is an old fashioned herbaceous evergreen shrub which, though it can be consumed in small quantities, be poisonous as well. If ingested it can cause stomach problems, vomiting and occasionally death. It can also cause burn-like blisters on the skin. It's also where the saying 'rue the day' comes from, lol. But as a name I have always loved it, I think it's so, so pretty. I'm not a fan of Hemlock personally, it sounds a little 'dark' for me. But I can still appreciate it as a name just the same 😊 xxx
