Had that car through the Air Force 331.5 hemi bought from old lady in Batavia I’ll. Had 52000 on it. What a car a sleeper. Punch it and she would throw you up to 80. Punch it again snd you were easily over 100. Drove it in flat lands Kansas and Texas to air bases and heading back to see my beautiful Irish girl in Chicago. Never let me down double belts Every thing deluxe. Drove it through college Could not get rid of her. She was so important to me. Stored her til 2017. Electric lines fell on the garage and she was damaged past restoration

Is that a padded dash? That must have been totally innovative at the time. I don't remember cars of the era with such dashboards. I could be wrong, let me know.

I have a 1953 Chrysler NEW Yorker, blue in color and it is a 4 door with the 331 hemi, automatic transmission with a clutch, and also a 1954 Chrysler New Yorker, also blue in color but it's a two tone blue and the interior is two tone blue also and it is a 2 door sedan with a 331 hemi, automatic transmission and I'm second owner of both vehicles, and I don't believe that, that hazard light in the trunk is factory, I do believe that it has been added at sometime, why, because my 53, and 54 does not have the light in the trunk as this one does and also it didn't come out with dual exhaust I do believe, mine has single exhaust and they always did have single exhaust, maybe the only thing that had dual exhaust at that time was a semi possibly and I'm not sure about that

This car had much better engineering than any caddy and was fast very very fast. The Chrysler people ran it 24 hours it averaged 120 mph on the track given no credit for gas stops. It was amazing cause of the hemi engine and the auto trans. Both were heavy duty. Great engineering was Chrysler
