I finally buckled down and tried ‪@RetroSpecter‬ 's mod and even though the main week isn't even complete, I still wanted to cry. This Friday Night Funkin' mod was insane and made me so mad. In all seriousness though, big congrats on the awesome mod release. I've been jamming to Retro's stuff for a LONG LONG time and it's awesome to see the transfer to this community. Amazing work.

To beat Ectospasm, you have to hit the crystal notes that show up every now and then in the song. They look like poison notes but are more round shaped. Since the notes gradually become invisible, hitting those notes will revert your notes back to normal.

I was also one handed when I first started playing rhythm games and got used to it for like 4 months, but I quickly realized that some songs are extremely hard to play with just one hand unless you are very good or have more years of experience so I tried two hands and at first it was so weird, it was like I was learning something for the first time ever. Since then I got more and more used to two hands and although it might take a while to learn it's definitely worth the practice.

Thats how it was for me as well, now i use my right hand for the up and right arrow keys and left for a and s. It was definitely weird but it took me like 3 days to get it down and now i just play every mod like this. Now using one hand is weird to me.

I don't think playing 1 handed is going to work for long, Mason. I mean, I understand that you've been playing with 1 hand since you started, but mods are gonna get harder, and it'll be easier to do it with 2 hands. You can practice it off camera by playing with easier mods or something.

Honestly, fuck Retrospecter for making Ectospasm. I was able to beat Spectral on hard, but beating Ectospasm is SOMETHING ELSE. Oh, by the way, here’s some tips for Spectral, if you decide you want to beat it: 1: DO NOT TRY TO FC. Hit as few notes as possible to minimize your chances of hitting acid notes. Stick to parts with fewer acid notes. For example, In the first difficult part of the song, the middle rows are mostly safe. 2: Spamming is a good idea if you pair it with the first tip 3: If you hit an acid note before the section with the long hold notes, it’s game over. You won’t be able to survive the later sections. Ideally, by the final stretch, you should still be at 0 4: It’s a good idea to watch a video of the song or turn on botplay and memorize the patterns.

I don’t think adapting to two-handed controls would take much longer than a week. I’d started with arrows, and A S W D. I realised I sucked ass with those, so I changed them to what woops usually uses and boom, 2 days in, I beat Guns. I recommend the following controls: D F J K A S K L Z X COMMA PERIOD Z X NUMPADTWO NUMPADTHREE A S NUMPADFIVE NUMPADSIX In my case, the further away the second key and third key are, the more comfortable it is to hit stairs, and trills.
