Im getting ready to try this. It's so pretty. I hope i don't mess it up. Lol I live in assisted living facility. My husband of 32 yrs. Passed at the beginning if covid. He was going to be 61 in 10 days. So I desided I wasn't going to sit around and walker in my sorrows, and I seen some videos here on KZbin and I was so excited if all the fun things I could drown myself in. I took my stimulus checks and bought my tools and supplies. Im confined to a wheelchair I got a bone decease and I can't walk. Im in KANSAS CITY MY WHOLE FAMILY IS IN KENTUCKY. I cant leave because of a program im in that helps me with my rent. Im just on Social security disability. Kentucky doesn't have this program So making jewelry is my life saver. I took a piece of coaxial cable, a broken USB cable and a 17 cm of cable that my lil nephew was playing with, I peel them off using teeth, small pliers, and my nails. I started from the middle part but it was a bit short,I don't have a mandrel but use a kitchen utensil that has a round handle, but I was able to make the ring slightly different since the middle part was short but thanks to you I made my first wire wrap ring ,first thing ever. Hi! I find your work and detailing really wonderfull. I do hav a question: when you work with copper, how do you prevent oxidisation? Do you use some kind of lacquer or something similar so that the ring doesn't tarnish?

I used to round copper wire have plating layer, and not dark by time If you use bare copper, it will be oxidized. You have to oxidize it, polish it, Then cover a layer of protection so that it doesn't change over time. that's a general rule, but I haven't had the chance to try it yet.
