Rocket Angels have always been one of my main units. Despite being a naval force, I primarily use their air units. Their Paralysis whip always helped me deal with heavy hitters.

Sometimes you can see the angels like a kirov. They're really bad in maneuverability and defense. But if they get on top of an enemy's base, its gone in a blink

These are my favourite units! I fell in love with them during the Unit Tutorial with their cute lines like " "Doko ni iku no?" and "Mochiron!" I'm a strictly single player, so I don't need to worry about meta. I always train a squad of twelve where two are on whip duty. I use them to escort my artillery units like Shogun Battleships. If the enemy has a heavy AA presence, I'll bring some Sea Wings or Bullfrogs, but I'll always use Rocket Angels

I’m also curious about this overview. And as expected, they ARE weak. Rockets take some sweet time to land, moves SLOWLY, expensive to build ($900 from tier 3 dojo), need to have numbers for some damage, short range including skill range. The only place I have ever used Rocket Angel is on that Empire mission where early on you need to deal with a large number of MCVs. 6 Rocket Angels cant even kill a vindicator somehow.

Well, aside from the obvious that Allies are OP by nature. The other thing is Rocket Angels are too slow to to anything aside from maybe sneaking a few unguarded buildings, which often isn't worth the micro.

Rocket Angels are just to weak to be used effectively, They, need to be made faster and have greater range in general, maybe a price and/or tier reduction as well, they have the potential to be good, but they aren't quite where they need to be, with the right changes they could easily shoot up several tiers.

I almost wish rocket angels were good, and maybe that they could be unlocked earlier. They could possible handle cryocopters for Empire, which would be a decently hard nerf against those Hell-icoptors. Just give them a range buff and make them tier 2 or something. Then again, I doubt this game is still being updated, so...

As I know swithcing angel's weapons doesn't stop their moving at all. Only for a while. After you switched the weapons they continue to move the same course in a couple of seconds.

Despite the Rocket Angel's destructive capabilities, nothing beats a combo of Tengus and Strikers(w/ Advanced Rocket Pods)... You'd only be using Rocket Angels if money is tight... I mean, it's nearly half the combined price of a Tengu and a Striker...

@@krischen2428 you're right. For the most part, they're outclassed in challenges, but sometimes they can beat challenges under par, and they're easier to micro than anything else. Some examples are the proton collider or chronosphere or future tank challenges. But yeah, they take a crazy amount of time to set up, so you're definitely not setting any world records.

Honestly, rocket angels might be viable if the Empire has other means to tech up other than just upgrading your dojo. People who don't play PvP always think rocket angels are strong. In reality, your Tier 3 dojo will never last for 2 minutes, because everything can kill it instantly (Vindicators say hello) and it will be a waste of money trying to tech up dojos. Not to mention you can't even hide it on the sea like generators or Naval yard.

I buff their missile and ability range, damage, pods number, health and reduce price by a 100 in my personal mod patch. I made soviet anti air flak radius around 90 units though. They were only like... 30?

As said in the video, their biggest weakness/issue is speed. While things like Kirovs are super slow, at least they are a threat. Rocket Angels are just a mild inconvenience at best; and to sneak undefened bases (which is highly unlikely these days).

RAs are deadly against empire AI, because empire AI just does not build AA (if they build tengus RAs will get rekt). But RAs won't work against Soviet AI that build swarms of bullfrogs
