Well assuming nothing changes, which could happen given the current pandemic, but assuming nothing does, you’ll soon get your wish. I have flights booked to and from Omaha next month.

how can you tell the difference from a normal 737 to a max when they share the same winglet .

The winglets do have similar features, but there are some distinct differences between the split scimitar winglets that you see on this aircraft, and the Boeing split winglets on the new Max.The winglets on the classic next generation 737s, are very skinny and pointy. On the max, they are much bulkier and they do not taper to a point. If you’ve ever seen the winglet of a Embraer 175, the newer ones that are much thicker, the new split winglets on the Max look much more like that. In other words, the split scimitar winglets are much more angular and smaller. The new split winglets on the Max, are much bigger, and much more angular. They don’t taper off to a point. Obviously, I can’t post pictures here, but just Google search 737 split scimitar winglet, and then Google search 737 max winglet, and you can easily see the difference between them when they have pictures side-by-side.
