Maybe it's just not incorporated, but I'm missing any indication that 22L was inspected for debris before allowing new approaches again.

I didn't incorporate that part, but yes, a bit after the airport was reopened, CAR-99 requested to inspect 22L, and got off the runway about 3-4 minutes before the first arrival (UAL519) landed.

Why would you close the airport for a brake fire that’s out ……that’s on a taxiway…..away from the landing runway. Makes no sense, except in Newark. 🤦♂️
