Absolutely no question. The SAS are the original elite of the elite. Most of not all other special forces have adopted various mythologies from the SAS. You can argue amongst yourself for second place. But the truth is these boys are the original and the best. No doubt whatever.

No, the first specialized units were the Arditi of ww1 then SAS came specialized in raids. However the first SOF in the world was the X MAS born during ww1. X MAS first navy and SF in general, then it came SAS for ground operations.

Btw SAS trained half of the world units as former X MAS operators did and like GOI still do (including SEALs, Shayetet 13, egypt SOF and God knows all the others). I have to admit that SAS taught to italian GIS CQB and hostage rescue while GOI trained SBS (for sure, being the first frogmen unit in the world and having created fins, torpedoes and masks).

When I was in Marine Recon, we trained with Royal Marines, great guys, great troopers. Never had the pleasure of training with SAS, but they didn't gain their reputation using a PR firm, along with US Navy DEVGRU, SAS is at the top of the food chain in Spec Ops.

SAA it wasnt true they did have any concrete evidence when the served him with his international arrest warrant he died of a heart attack in his sleep the papers made out it was going on for years the laptop wasnt even his where the images where his daughter was came out a said this but the papers didnt want know it is all coming out soon apprently but there another legal battle going on to get the real verdict out

But in your school they never talked about the Italian "Arditi" and the members of XMAS? They were the first special forces in the world. they are the ones who have taught a lot of things! they were the first to use the current SDV and to practice H.A.L.O.
